Do you have a link?
Reaching the western most part of Alaska and reaching LA are two different things, as are another underground nuclear test of similar hardware and something more sinister.

We have Aegis cruisers stationed off North Korea capable of knocking down their missiles in the boost phase and a mid course interceptor system based in Alaska and California. And of course if the North Koreans ever were insane enough to fire at us we would turn the country into a giant smoking hole in the ground. I suspect this is just more posturing for their customers in Iran and Venezuela.

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said on Thursday it would carry out further rocket launches and a nuclear test that would target the United States, dramatically stepping up its threats against a country it called its "enemy".
The announcement by the country's top military body came a day after the United Nations Security Council agreed a U.S.-backed resolution to censure and sanction the country for a rocket launch in December that breached U.N. rules.
"We are not disguising the fact that the various satellites and long-range rockets that we will fire and the high-level nuclear test we will carry out are targeted at the United States," North Korea's National Defence Commission said, according to state news agency KCNA.

What is the point of censuring and sanctioning a country that doesn't have anything (except nuclear weapons)?
much to do about nothing
if and when they are serious, they will feel the wrath

If they aim it at us China better get worried. Or maybe Japan, South Korea or just some ship sitting in the Sea of Japan. These bastids might even take out their own people from what I have read of their missile prowess.

We should send them pictures of the food we can no longer send them, when they kill us.

This is some timely propaganda, as it comes only a week after Senator Rand Paul made headlines when he suggested that American cities should be protected from missile attack.
"But absolutely I'm in favor of it. Think about on 9/11. There's no reason our White House, our Capitol, and our major cities shouldn't have a missile defense... I argue that there will be irrational actors on the stage. There's no way to stop irrationality from eventually getting weapons into the hands of people who might attack us."

You've got to keep the people in a state of fear and beat the war drums every chance you get. If some other country tests a weapons system or runs an exercise, use the corporate media to make it sound more ominous and threatening than it really is. This is how you slowly galvanize support for a policy of preemptive war. This way, when it comes time for war with Iran, the American people will be chomping at the bit for it, since they will have already been subjected to years of bogeyman propaganda about irrational dictators, nuclear bombs, and intercontinental ballistic missiles. They'll remember all the fear they felt when they read this story about North Korea, and they'll gladly drive their only son - or daughter - to the Army recruitment center and give him over to the war industry.

If they aim something in our direction, we should fire a missile that detonates right over Pyongyang and litters them with warning leaflets telling everyone their beloved leader has sex with hamsters, and the next time hamster boy plays this missile game, they will all die.
Just an idea. :joecool:
