Oh. Well, I prefer the AP poll and disagree with your assertion that it's interesting and nothing more. CBS and ESPN not only use it on the screen during games but they acknowledged USC as co-champions with LSU based on the AP poll. To each their own but the AP seems to have quite a bit of power and also, it's hard to take the US Today poll seriously when they still have Wisconsin ranked 22nd. They beat Northern Iowa 26-21 and lost to Oregon State 10-7. They also have four 1-1 teams in the top 25 while the AP poll only has one. Personally, I think the AP poll is better. jmo

If we do that, move the ball on the ground, and keep spreading the field with offensive plays, all while keeping Tenn's WRs in check, we have a great chance.

As usual, this game will decided in the trenches. If the O line can't block, our offense is dead in the water. If the D line can't pressure, the DBs will get gassed and Bray will pick us apart.

Bray will be the difference. We HAVE to stop him (or at least contain him) Will our secondary be up to the challenge? I'm very nervous about this one. Going to be a war, just like A&M was. Watch the games. Study the teams your opponents play before acting like they have bad secondaries. Sure, Bray made NC State's secondary look bad, but in reality they're one of the best secondaries in the nation. NC State's D had the most picks of anyone last season including All Americans David Amerson's 13 INT's. Well Amerson got burnt on three td's by Bray/Patterson ;). NC State has a very very good secondary even though it didn't look like it when the Vols were done. They had three INT's the next week against Connecticut, but 0 against Bray.

David Amerson was projected as a top 10 draft pick, after Bray and the Vol receivers torched him so bad in that game some people wondered if he'd even get drafted :joecool:

I'm not questioning NC State having a good ACC secondary, but you must know as well as we do that the level of talent in the SEC is just on an entirely different level. And Pass Defense is just about cornerbacks. It's about:

1) Playcalling

2) Secondary (CB's, NB's and Safeties)

3) Pass Rush

4) Being able to establish a run.

The best secondary in the country would be picked apart if a QB like Bray was given time to go through his progressions. He won't have that time tomorrow. Bray is a statue in the pocket, and while being overly aggressive in going after the QB hurt us against a shifty, mobile QB at A&M, I think this game is the perfect time to play aggressive on defense. I don't think UT will be able to run the ball much, and once we start getting in Donkey Boy's face, he will make mistakes.

I sincerely hope UT is as overconfident as they sounded this week. I also love that there was not a peep from Florida players. UF has been totally disrespected by UT and the media all week. Motivation should not be a problem for our guys tomorrow, thats for sure. Do your talking on the field Gators
