On D we have little depth and even less discipline. Our O is pedestrian. But our offensive line is particularly lame. A&M is in for a rude awakening if they think this will be typical compared to what they'll face week in and week out.

Funny because we just watched a finesse spread team take our D to the shed in the first half. Hopefully we can make some adjustments to get back in the game.

We only had the ball 3 times the whole half and scored on two of them...this is all on the defense. Those 3rd and long quarterback draws killed us...the defense did not know that was an obvious call? Dejavu back to the Rooster at FSU.

Especially if you're not changing much to begin with. Our transformation from spread to pro-set has been considerably more difficult.

This team is softer than it ever was under Urban, forget the spread vs. pro thing just look at how our defense is getting pushed around... BY A TEAM THAT HAS BEEN RUNNING THE SPREAD IN THE BIG 12 . So now we have a soft defense, and a pro-style offense that can't gain yards. WTF is that?
The most concerning thing is everyone was already excusing the offense due to the transition from spread and that we hired a "defensive" coach. But now our defense seems to be deteriorating as well, shockingly so. I now think it was a mistake to hire Muschamp, we did Texas a favor with the way their program was going, and it is to our own peril.

Like I said, he needs to get the ball out or decide to run with it more quickly. But its not like he's pulling a John Brantley against f$u. Driskel has been money when he's let it rip and they have mostly been 10-15 yard down field passes, so that is good.

It's not all about buying in. I'm talking about self pride in being an athlete. It's the heart competition. You can not believe a thing the coach says but you still don't want to he owner by a competitor.
And what evidence do you That players are. It buying in. All I see is weaker players. Players that don't follow basic "rules" of defense. I learned to stay at home as an DE when I was 7 years old.
I think there are some personnel changes the coaches could make but I'm not a D1 coach. I only coach HS football and I rely on amazing players to make me look good.
All I was saying is that there is also blame to go around for the players.
I agree 100%. the only reason more posters don't see this is because they can't call for a player to be fired. I see exactly the same thing you see here. Two different highly regarded S&C coaches and we still get man handled. That's solely on the drive and heart of these players.

Considering how we've been out played, it is surprising that we are only down by 7. Maybe we can make defensive adjustments to hurt their QB. Frankly, the kid is very very good. Probably will be the SEC player of the year if he is as good against the rest as he is against us. I thought it was scheme, but it's the QB. He is just flat out fast and he is avoiding the pressure incredibly.

Stunning...but not really. We saw our lack of playmakers the last two years. Our oline is the Matadors east. Our defense looks confused...were we not watching Houston tape. Perhaps we can hold them under 40 and score another 10? That would seem reasonable at this point.

Well if we don't improve, I don't think it's automatic he gets 3 years. This looks like a 5-7 team right now. Can you imagine the epic meltdown that would cause? There's no way Foley sticks with him in that scenario.
He did do it with Zook, but probably *ONLY* because Zook did actually win some big games (Georgia, and should have won the swindle in the swamp). Muschamp might need to pull an upset somewhere (LSU, UGA, FSU) to save his job. 7 or 8 wins and there will still be some haters, but it would be rational to let him keep building the program. If we struggle to even make a bowl, or even worse DON"T make a bowl then forget about it. The rational thing to do is let him go and try again.

we have to get a stop here and give it back to the offense they are in a good rhythm
Yes, offense can move the ball and has the ability to wear out their defense this half if the defense ever gets off the field.

Driskel needed some touch on that pass rather than burning it in there.
What game are you watching that was tight coverage. That's on Hammond.

Could Musburger pretend, just pretend for a quarter or so that he isn't pro Texas or anti-Gator or pro Big 12 ? I mean, seriously.

putting "touch" on a slant over the middle of the field is a recipe for disaster

I have always said had he not had a weird injury in 2010, that team would have won 10 games.

I disagree- tight window, he had to put heat on it. A D1 college receiver had to catch it when it hits him in the hands.

That wildcat play was a complete waste. I hope they never use that again at the University of Florida till the end of time.
Don't agree with this statement. I want to see it no more than four times a game. After that if it is not effective shelf it for the game

One minute we're pissed he's not trying to motivate.. now we're mad he's clapping about a FG for the sake of keeping the team up beat.
Insufferable.
