I official de-committed from USC #WideOpen
6'2", 240lbs #7 Weakside DE according to rivals. He shows medium interest in Florida, Kentucky and Louisville.
Any chance we make a run at hard him?

No chance, he's likely staying close to home.

I've seen speculation that bama is interested in Hatcher.

Heck ya, we'll make a run. We have *1* DE committed. He showed a lot of interest in us. I think adding Joker Phillips was a major selling point for him. In the end, with the USCw decommit, I think we'll land him.
What concerns me is that the other 2 teams in the mix are from his home-state. While I don't see him committing to either Kentucky or Louisville, I wouldn't exactly rule it out.

Louisville or Kentucky IMO been saying it for the longest. I was always a big fan of Hatcher and wish the staff would have gone after him all year.

Or maybe not...

Rivals 250 DE Jason Hatcher may have decomitted from #USC but according to his mother they still will not visit #UF
BUT
With USC firing of their DB's coach, hopefully Jalen Ramsey will be the next domino to fall... I feel a lot better about Ramsey being in the class than most other kids.
It's a shame about Hatcher, dude reminds me of a mini-Kevin Carter. He could wreak some havoc up front. Hopefully we're not out of it that easily, but meh, wouldn't doubt it either.

The Hatcher decommit has been coming for months. Hatcher's teammate WR Quick committed to Louisville and so did his QB who is a 2014 commit. What is funny is Urban and the whole OSU fan base thought they were getting Quick and now they are scrambling to get WR commits.

I don't have a problem with Urban but how could you think that a kid who lives in Kentucky and parents went to Louisville was going to choose OSU? Just like I never believed Hatcher was going to USC. He committed to hold a spot at a big time college he will chose a local school now the dust has settled.

I don't like him one bit... But I agree, my son will have one choice for a school to go to, that's UF... If not, off to the army with you boy... Lol jk, but I totally agree with what you said

USC fans think we're getting Hatcher & Ramsey. That would be a heck of a close.

Actually, you are going about it all wrong. I told my 2 kids, they could go anywhere they wanted. BUT I would pay for it if they went to UF.

Glad I didn't say that. My kids both went to private universities and with scholarships and aid, it turned out to be cheaper than UF and a number of other good public schools. If you don't live in Florida. UF is not as good deal as a good private school. Those schools are giving away money like it's nobody's business. Along with being expensive out of state, UF is stingy with grant money.

Something about this story smells. A former S. Cal. commit is considering UK or Louisville??? Maybe he didn't have an offer from Kiffen. If he decided LA was too far, there are upper tier programs closer to home instead of considering a couple of 2nd tier BSC schools. Why not throw USF in the mix? If it was S. Carolina, it would make sense as his position coach left.

There is nothing fishy about this story. When he committed people felt there was a good chance he would end up close to home. Both Kentucky and Louisville have good defensive coaches he will see the field early and be able to stay close to his family.

Louisville might lose thier defensive coordinator to the Miami report. We may be in better shape than most think.

isn't CLint the Dline coach and not the D coordinator? I thought Vance was the D coordinator.

Really enjoyed spending the time with James Quick at the Army game. He hinted back then Hatcher would decommit. I quote, "Our boy (Hatcher) is probably going to join us in Louisville". There was another player at our Army dinner and through the week that never left Quick's side. I have to check my program to try and recall who that was. I was joking with both kids right after the photo i posted of myself, Brian Brohm, Michael Clayton and Aaron Williams a couple of weeks ago. I mentioned to Quick's friend, who was undecided, that he should join his buddy at UL and that Charlie Strong is a man of his word. Even before i said that it seemed like this kid was wanting to commit to UL. As for Hatcher, there is a slight chance but there will need to be some miracle work done and maybe a voodoo spell or two.
