not surprising that some people wouldn't honor the day and not seize on an inappropriate opportunity to boo what they considered a foe

Republicans have thrown every possible cheapshot and falsehood at Obama over the past four years, and now they think it's just really not right than Democrats would boo a Republican.

I mean, I've got a conservative Republican cousin on Facebook today still claiming that Obama hired a lawyer and spent millions sealing his college records. Doesn't matter how many times it's been debunked, they just keep repeating it. That particular falsehood has been posted dozens of times on Too Hot.

Personally, I think its inappropriate to boo Ryan. I wouldn't have done it. But pretending inappropriate behavior lives only on one side of the aisle is ... just pretending.

But pretending inappropriate behavior lives only on one side of the aisle is ... just pretending. Why are you pretending that someone is "pretending inappropriate behavior lives only on one side of the aisle"? Nobody said any such thing. In any event, nothing done by Republicans changes the fact that the booing of Paul Ryan at the inauguration was, as you said, inappropriate.

I boo FSU when they come onto the field or court. Politics are simply team sports in America, nothing more. Look at these boards everyday to see that.

Even Michelle has to show some "less than classy" actions while at lunch. Or should I say 'at the trough' as illustrated by her fierce desire to feed herself. She sure has no restraint while shoveling the food down as if starving, and find time to roll her eyes. Yessiree, a truly elegant 1st Lady. (I use the term lady with some reservation)

Gee I though Ryan was an American and a member of the US House of Representatives. Doesn't he deserve the same (if not more) respect as Jessie Jackson Jr, Charlie Rangel, and William Jefferson?

I guess it thought it fitting for the crowd to jeer President Bush as he was getting ready to conducted the honored tradition of a peaceful transition of power.

When a Democrat is booed, you guys claim it is proof how bad the Democrat is. When a Republican is booed, you claim it is proof how bad those who are booing are.

Republicans reserve the right to say the vilest, nastiest made up things about any Dem that they see fit.

However, if a Dem even takes a step in a similar direction, pubs fall over and fan themselves claiming to have contracted a case of The Vapors.

How you forgot the Bush days. Just face the facts that both sides are guilty of this behavior, because it just makes look silly saying these things.

Politics can be a bare knuckle business. Only the pubs reserve the right to both be nasty and feign being offended when the other side reciprocates.

No false equivalence here, please.

Visiting some parts of north Florida, an coming from an immensely rich neighborhood, I've heard the nastiest, most vulgar, racist, and incorrect slurs about Obama.

The worst I heard about bush is that he's dumb.

A boo is no worse than a pat on the back compared with the new level of hatred of leaders that came in the past 4 years

I'd boo each and every one of them. Then again I wouldn't spend a dime or two minutes watching such B.S. How much money was spent on all that hoopla?

There was some ugly stuff about Bush. That he blew up the levees in New Orleans. That he ordered the execution of prisoners after Katrina and their bodies dumped in the swamp. But those absurdities came from people that most Democrats rejected as being complete wingnuts.
Republicans seem to have mainstreamed that kind of ridiculous accusation.

Adjusted for inflation, roughly the same amount that was wasted in 2005.

or this:

The head of the Mon Valley Republican Committee in Pennsylvania is facing backlash from his local community after displaying an American flag upside down — a statement usually meant as a distress signal by soldiers in times of war — during President Obama’s second inauguration ceremony. The flag was placed outside the Mon Valley Republican Party’s meeting spot on the main road in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.

Instead it's on and on with the "yeah but Republicans, yeah but Republicans" stuff, thus demonstrating once again that there's no high road on your internal GPS.
