Watching this Florida team is so much fun. The chemistry is fantastic and I love the amount of scoring you always have on the floor. They are playing some great ball and making each other better. Props to you guys!! You have one he'll of a team and you may be the first team in SEC history to go 18-0 in the SEC. Enjoy it my friends at NBN!!!

Well Jeff, 18-0 seems pretty unlikely, although 6-0 appears pretty likely right now, but the way this team has been playing over the past few games, with several injuries and against LSU with both Rosario and Prather out, while against A&M and Missou, Prather was gone, is pretty impressive.
Right now, at least, the Gators do appear to be the team to beat in the SEC.
One never knows, however, what the future will bring.
Nice post and thank you... Although 18-0 is a tall order...

Our next 3 games should be wins unless we have some kind of letdown. Then we have another really tough team coming in in Ole Miss. They also handled Missouri quite easily.

No doubt it's hard to do however you guys are like a machine and the SEC is what it is. Congrats to Billy D for his 400th SEC win!!!

Too early to peak. So glad there are turnovers/ball handling to work on. Regardless, they need to play well in feb and march to deliver the season we/they hope for.
And not counting on a win at Kentucky for sophmore day.

You are right it is a marathon and there will be some hoops to jump through but I love the way you look. The best thing is the players love one another and they are having FUN

Love the way this team is handling conference teams. They're good enough for me to start planning some road trips. Vandy, Tennessee, Kentucky and Missouri are all within driving distance of Chicago. Even Arkansas is conceivable. Lexington is the shortest drive and that's on a Saturday. Never been to Rupp and we match up better against Kentucky than in recent years. Might have to start making arrangements.

Thanks! Classy post as usual Jeff.
I thought Kentucky went through a season before undefeated in the SEC in their rich tradition basketball history.

Kentucky went 16-0 last season but now we have 18 games so it's possible we could be the first ones to accomplish that feat.

Thanks Jeff. Great to hear a class comment from ya as always. Gotta admit that this team has all our hopes up for the best they can be. Always looking for undefeated, but, as noted, it IS a marathon and anything can happen with young guys in this sport. Lets all just hope they continue playing really well, without getting hurt and act with pride. Of course, Donovan hitting 400 is a source of pride for the entire program here in my opinion. If nothing else, I believe our coach is a classy guy too and earning all the accolades he's receiving and earning. Thanks again!

DDCat, thanks for the kind words. 18-0 would be nice, but in all sports let downs happen. Last year ya'll had a team for the ages. This year we have a team when playing tough defense and sharing the ball, we will be a tough out. The experience factor is also prevalent. I hope we stay healthy and continue to improve. We don't have first round draft choices this year, but we have a team. Getting another conference championship should be a goal, winning the conference championship tournament would be nice but not really needed, and a deep run in the NCAA would cement this team's status. Final Four is the goal, not easy to get there, but with a little luck and continued improvement, it could be done. But first, there is a lot of B-Ball to be played.
Today I am smiling like a Cheshire Cat!:joecool:

No. Not going undefeated in conference play and it really doesn't matter. Don't put expectations through the roof because you're setting yourself up for a fall. Besides, it's just not going to happen.

Is it really true that there's never been an 18-0 SEC record? None of those old time Kentucky teams ran the table when we had ten teams and a round robin schedule?

First time we have had 18 game SEC schedule is why it would be a first and I think you will get it!

I'm just worried about going 5-0, but thanks for the 18-0 thoughts. We stomped UGALY in Gainesville last season and then lost in Athens. It's one game at a time to get to a successful season.
The chemistry on this team is incredibly high, the best since our national championship seasons.
UK's Diaper Dandy's showed how good they can be when they play like a team instead of a group of talented players. They looked outstanding in the 2nd half against Auburn.
The two teams that looked like the real deal to me yesterday played in Louisville. Both Louisville and Syracuse have the look of Final Four teams to me. Because we are playing 7 deep without Prather, I'd put UF just below the Cards and the Orange for now.
I hope Billy finds a way to get more playing time for our freshmen. Obviously Frazier has proved his ability to contribute, but all of our freshmen are capable of contributing. An extended and used bench is a good thing even if 8 gets the job done nicely. We've been very fortunate to have players play through injury.
After getting a tongue lashing for their poor performance over the last 2 1/2 minutes of getting outscored 9-0 at aTm, the freshmen responded better inside the last 3 minutes against Mizzou even though outscored 5-3. I saw Patric Young giving the young guys encouragement when they were huddled up before taking the floor.

What I like best about this Gator team is the edge to their game. They remind me a lot of the 02-03 UK team -Bogans, Hays, Fitch, et. al - they play mean (not dirty, just hardnosed) and they take no prisoners.

The only reason I am not worrying about peaking too early is we still have a few flaws in our game right now. Not to mention, the shots we are making are wide open and often right next to the hoop. If we were draining fluke threes in other teams faces, I'd be worried.

Wilby has developed a quite nasty look and Patric has been working on "the glare". Rosario is laughing all the way and WY best look is the smirk. KB keeps to poker face while Eric has a tough Irish Kid attitude (until he smiles and looks like a little kid). Love to see them inspire fear in the hearts of our opponents. Who wants the gators the first weekend of the tourney?

I almost don't want an unbeaten schedule. It's tough to handle. I want these guys coachable when the time is right.

he's a gator fan except when the wildcats come a'callin'. it would be like me up in lexington. i'd probably go to a few wildcat [football] games and root for the wildcats since they are under-cats in that sport. root for 'em, 'cept when the gators came into town to play.
