FYI- Former Gators Grad Assistant and now University of Miami Offensive Coordinator Jedd Fisch was just hired by the Jaguars to fill the Offensive Coordinator position.

Background:
2001 Defensive Quality Control, Houston Texans
2004-2007 Assistant QB Coach, Assistant WR Coach, Baltimore Ravens
2008 WR Coach, Denver Broncos
2009 Offensive Coordinator, U of Minnesota
2010 QB Coach, Seattle Seahawks
2011 Offensive coordinator, Miami Hurricanes
2013 Offensive Coordinator, Jacksonville Jaguars
I think this is a great hire the Jaguars. Nice up and comer with an innovative offensive mind.

So the inevitable question....would he consider TT?

I really think the Jags could be good on offense. They now have a good WR group, Lewis is a great blocker and adequate reciever at TE. They now have 3 guys who can run the ball. OL should be better but they need improvement at QB. Get the right guy and they will move the ball.

So, does this mean Pease to Miami?

you can't use great and lewis in the same sentence. he is avg at everything except catching the football and then he is awful. evidently, the jags new coach liked fisch while he was in seattle. miami at least threw the ball downfield so maybe the jags will.

Many disagree with you and consider to be one of the best blocking TE's in the NFL. To each his own.

Did the University of Miami really run an innovative offense last year?

Good question. Pease to Miami would be a truly bizarre move.
Maybe Apex thought Fisch was coaching the Dolphins?

I've had enough of Lewis, he hasn't done a damn thing since getting that contract. I expect the play calling to improve drastically but let's be honest here. This is a team with two promising receivers, an OLine with a good LT and nothing else, an aging RB, and two horrific QBs. There is a long way to go.

Maybe Caldwell and Bradley will take a page out of what John Schneider and Pete Carroll did in Seattle. They completely revamped the Seattle roster in a very short time. They were not afraid to make moves, I believe over 100 since they have been there. The Jags roster was the worst in the NFL and needs to be greatly upgraded.

Agreed, the roster is a freaking joke. Besides Poz there isn't one player on defense I'd be sad to see gone. Cox is a good player but he can't stay on the field.

Given the Fisch's history, what does he do with the QB position?

Does this mean the Jags are going to be running a lot of pick fan right with Blackmon and Shorts?

I don't know about "innovative" but they definitely put up points...

If you don't know Fisch's background it is a great read....especially if you're a Gator.
He never played college football. He was a UF student who worked for the football team while he was in school....under Spurrier. His career has been remarkable, especially for a kid who never played.

No, I know that. I'm wondering about his preference of QBs.

This is the best OC Jax has had since Petrino. That said, the franchise hasn't been blessed with the best coaches over the last decade.
