Official Final: Florida - 83 vs Missouri - 52, Saturday, 2:00 PM, ESPN

This is a game which many Gator fans have been looking forward to for quite some time and rightfully so. The Missouri Tigers will be taking on Florida in front of a sold out O-Dome crowd Saturday afternoon. They (the Tigers) will be without the services of their #1 scorer, Laurence Bowers, who is suffering from a knee injury and is slated to miss the game. This is going to make a tough task even harder for the visitors as they were already listed at13.5 point underdogs. If the Gators can pull this one out then they will have defeated two good teams within a 3 day period and it will further strengthen their RPI.

I think it is fair to say the Gators could do a repeat of what they have been doing the last few games and that is jump out to an early lead then build on it. Except for a late game lapse the team handled the, currently ranked 7th, Arizona Wildcats pretty roughly and did so on the road. In fact except for those last couple of minutes and the no-show at K-State this team has been pretty persistent this year and has shown the capabilities to totally dominate an opponent. As I looked back at the scores, other than the two losses, the closest another team has come this season is UCF at 13 points. With this said they guys are playing on a short 2 day turnaround and playing a quality foe who would like nothing better than to upset Florida on its own home court.

There will be a lot of people at the game but for those who won't be there, or will, join us in the game thread tomorrow as we follow the team in their quest for a 4th straight SEC victory.

If it is the play I think you are talking about, the direction and speed of the ball made me and the referee apparently think Murphy slapped it out of his hands as he was about to throw it up the court.

Dominating from the tip-off to the finish...and you can tell Pelphrey's ripping into the backups paid dividends today: they looked hungry and committed to playing strong on both ends of the court--coming up with big steals, solid defense, and offensive production too. Loved having Kurtz grab a bucket off a tough shot--and seeing Ogbueze, Walker, Graham, and Frazier playing well together too.

Hard to pick out a player from the starters who was the "best" since they all played well...one of the most impressive team performances we've seen in awhile.

I'm most concerned with mentally handling end of game situations when it's tight. We've been pretty shaky being strong with the ball under pressure. I'd like some more experience in that scenario, but certainly not going to complain about blowing teams out.

Possibly. There were a lot of scouts at the game, and a lot of them came to see Phil Pressey. What they got to see was Wilbekin totally dominate him.

While Pressey had a horrible stat line for the game I was very impressed with his talent. He was way faster than anyone else on the floor. I think that he will blossom with better players around him in the NBA.

Scotty had probably the best overall game I have ever seen him play. Totally awesome. If he makes a habit of playing like that he will get some attention.

Our first Grandbaby, William, born in July. :grin: Our daughter dresses him in Gator attire often and uses a Gator blanket on the floor for him to play on (although, since he's crawling and starting to try to walk, that's not going to last much longer).
