For those interested WCS is out at least 3-4 weeks with a knee injury. I hate that for Willie, but he isn't going to make or break our season. Oh well the Cats better a find a way, I'm not big on excuses!

What's the UK fans thoughts on him? I've only watched a few minutes of UK this year flipping through channels, but I am always intrigued by him. I know he'd be drafted behind 3-4 of your players, but appearance wise he looks like he has the most NBA potential. Maybe it's just his high old man socks and the fact that Noel looks like a 12 year old from the early 90's with that stupid flat top.

Hate to hear about that, but at least he will be back this year.

We will lose all 4 freshmen, Wiltjer, Harrow, and our seniors.

You must be listening to MM. I don't necessarily agree, although anything is possible.
I've been impressed with WCS. His ceiling is much higher than I thought coming out of hs. He's very much a work in progress. He's been a good contributor this year, but his real value is in his potential. Evidently he's actually and honestly 7 feet tall. That isn't common with his speed and hands. Still has a long way to go as far as defense and offensive polish go. He can leave this year and be drafted fairly high based on potential. Or he can leave next year after getting to be the center for a (hopefully) great team and get drafted at about the same place in the draft, if he shows improvement, as he would this year (much deeper draft).
I think he stays but wouldn't bet tons on it or anything. Don't think he came in with the OAD mindset, although maybe he just didn't think it was possible and will now reconsider.

Agree with that. He can be something special in time.

4 will be drafted rather high and Harrow and Wiltjer will go over seas to play is my guess. This will be a good think addition by subtraction!!

REM Maggard is one of the people I listen to but it all makes sense to me.
Hearing now that WCS may not miss as much as I thought. Not sure he matters or not whether we win or lose!

Why wouldn't Wiltjer graduate rather than go overseas?

If he chooses to he can take online classes in Turkey.

Yeah I'm not trying to bash Marc or anything. I hate when UK fans get so particular with who they follow/listen to and trash everyone else. If he ends up being right about that, I'll be surprised. I never say anything is impossible, but man I'd be disappointed (would still root for him though).

REM--- no problem. I hope he is wrong too lol, but I think it will be proven true. There are a few I hope go.

Only reason those Kentucky players coming out is because they have to make room for that great class coming in. Noway them boys ready for the NBA.

See that's what I'm learning and feel that way too, but they all have great potential and can get better while making nice money. I hope a few do come back but it's highly unlikely.

What happens if none of these guys leave? Does Cal start kicking guys off the team?

It'd be a nice problem to have, but only 1 of the freshmen (or any other non senior) has to leave for scholarships to work out unless UK got both Randle and Wiggins (which won't happen) in which case 2 players would have to leave.

There will be numerous Stacey Poole, Jr. announcements.

You can't recruit with the assumption that nobody leaves early. If you do, you'll find yourself severely short handed some years. "It will work itself out" is a phrase used here all the time and the same is true for UK.

Let me echo this Hall.
When you play and practice hard physically, injuries are necessarily one of the byproducts. Sometimes teams are fortunate and have few injuries. Sometimes, they are unfortunate, like this year's Gators, and have injury after injury after injury to key players at some of the least opportune times.
Such is life.

Okay, thanks for the info. I wasn't sure how it would work out.

There were a lot of gator fans that thought Donovan should have offered Poole instead of Prather. It appears Donovan knew what he was doing.
