Well, of course, you must realize that among Mormans, rooted as the religion was in Southern Plantation Traditions thanks to Joseph Smith, African Americans were not considered human until recently, and polygamy was widespread until suddenly they had a revelation that monogamy was "the correct way," when they wanted to become a state.

Perhaps the most interesting versions of Catholicism are Russian Orthodox (with their Icons), the Ethiopian Orthodox (with their Ark of the Covenant) and Greek Orthodox (with their amazing minarets).
