After taking the lead with 3 seconds left, BYU lets St. Mary's guard Matthew Dellavedova get just across half court and launch one with .9 left and its nothing but net.

The whiny, arrogant bunch from Provo are sent home crying again.

Yes, Thursday has started off well.

Well, of course, you must realize that among Mormans, rooted as the religion was in Southern Plantation Traditions thanks to Joseph Smith, African Americans were not considered human until recently, and polygamy was widespread until suddenly they had a revelation that monogamy was "the correct way," when they wanted to become a state.

Now, the polygamists live in Northern Arizona, and women still can't reach the 7th level of heaven unless they get married.

Their beliefs today are frequently unpopular, but beliefs grown in cultural traditions and just as slavery (except, of course "wage slavery") is today considered a "bad" thing in the U.S., Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, the Adams boys and all the other founding fathers owned slaves because it was culturally acceptable at the time.

After they were "given" the NCAA football championship in the 80s when they beat 6-5 Michigan in the weakest bowl game of the year (Fiesta), I turned against them somewhat.

Of course, Catholics (St. Mary's) have problems also, look at Notre Dame, for example. Every protestant knows that Catholics are drunkards (drunk Fighting Irish) and Idol Worshippers (the stations of the cross for instance). Perhaps the most interesting versions of Catholicism are Russian Orthodox (with their Icons), the Ethiopian Orthodox (with their Ark of the Covenant) and Greek Orthodox (with their amazing minarets).
