Did they flip a coin to decide which Kelly to offer?

Looks like we will be recycling thread topics for a while. Up next, "Brian Kelly to (insert team here) for real" topics, followed by "Oops, I mixed up Chip Kelly and Brian Kelly to (insert team here)" topics. Just give me the stinking discussion topics on uniforms and out of conference schedules.

He's dumb as shit sorry for the language .... I guess if he wanted to get close to an offense that can run with his, it is Philly though...

Wouldn't be so sure; they'll probably just bump up the OC and they still have more money/better facilities than any other team in the country (including us, Bama, etc) due to Knight.

If 95 % of the QB's coming out of college ranks are running a version of the spread then the NFL will be forced to adapt and is finally doing so
Only see this as a growing trend...

Tebow would be very comfortable in Kellys system and more importantly has the body to hold up over a season

"I look for a quarterback who can run and not a running back who can throw. I want a quarterback who can beat you with his arm," Kelly explained at a coaches clinic in the spring of 2011, emphatically adding, "We are not a Tim Tebow type of quarterback team. I am not going to run my quarterback 20 times on power runs."

That was college though, you need a Tebow/Newton type of player to run this offense consistently in the NFL imo.

Shocker. Not sure what to think of this. This has all the makings of a guy who had it made right where he was before he made the jump. A lot of guys it that situation ended up realizing they made a terrible mistake and came back (Petrino, Saban, Holtz). Of course there's also guys like Jimmy Johnson and Jim Harbaugh who ended up making it, but I'd like to know how Eagles fans are feeling right now.

That's the key. They can always jump back in to college ..but the NFL window will close. They have very little to lose. (Spurrier, Saban etc...)

Kelly is a liar like all of them. Said he was going to stay at Oregon and now with recruiting day coming up he decides to bail on Oregon. People hate him in Oregon now at the way he handled it.
I think word got out that NCAA sanctions were soon coming down and his agent advised him to get out while the iron is hot and his stock is high.

I don't know anyone personally in Oregon including you. I made the comment as my opinion based on what I've heard from the sports radio guys this morning. They said Kelly recommitted and gave his word that he was staying at Oregon when his interview with Cleveland didn't go well and their fans are upset about the way it went down especially leaving recruits hanging. He gave his word to them now he's bailing on them. Seems logical to me why the radio guys in my market used the words fans & hate in the same sentence.
Maybe you can tell us more since you live there. I'm sure the sports guys were giving their opinion based on what they know.

Unfounded rumors that give radio guys something to throw out and talk about.
You never know though but think about it. Now ESPN is throwing out that Tebow could go to Chicago because their new head coach likes him and has compared him to another player that was very successful. Can't think of his name though.

Conventional wisdom says Vick is gone...but this could change things.
My guess is he's still gone due to being so injury prone

Ehh.. I can't think of a single major college coach who hasn't done this either at the coordinator (Muschamp, Malzahn, etc.) or HC level (Spurrier, Saban, Meyer) it comes with the territory.

I don't know know why Kelly would live. USC is on life support, Stanford is impossible to get into for most kids, there is no other recruiting competition for two time zones, and he has a guy named Phil Nike pumping more cash into the program than Mike Price into a prostitution ring.
Yet he goes to a rough city with a rough fan base in a league where he has no experience to run a system that has yet to work at the NFL level without a future Hall of Fame quarterback? I mean, I know the guy is from the northeast and everything, but does he really want to be close to home that badly?

It's all about his personality. He is supremely confident and wants to test his abilities against the best. Moreover, the guy is like Spurrier in that he doesn't like having to fawn over/court/flatter recruits.

Is that why he turned down more money from the Bucs last year than he was making at Oregon? Is that why he didn't parlay his NFL flirtation into a raise with Oregon; instead he only sought raises for his assistants? The guy was already making four million in total salary.
That being said, of course money factors into it. An extra million or two per year will make a difference. Based on his actions, however, money clearly is not the main motivating factor driving Kelly.

I don't doubt he has some issues with the NCAA, but at some point the contracts that the NFL teams hand out can sway almost anyone.

Probably some of that too.. it's a good problem for him, I think, as it was for Carroll.
maybe he has to leave the Ducks, but now he's an Eagle.
