The pages won't re-load and I have to double-click the refresh button just to get a page to load.
Don't know if GC knows what's going on, but I just thought I'd give you a heads up or maybe get some info on when this problem will be solved?
And no, it isn't my computer.

I actually got a Malware warning today on a GC page. Never seen that before but I've had other issues for the past few months I think are related to the services that provide the banner ads on these pages.

Yep. Firefox with AdBlock is the best way to go on a computer...though I use the mobile app 90% of the time these days.

I sarcastically poo-poo'ed the adblock when someone suggested in the past. Then I researched it, and tried it. Then I ate humble pie. No probs with FF and with Iphone lately.

That's the issue I was having and continue to have. I happens least on Chrome. I talked with several of the admins and tech support and they can't figure it out. They kept telling me it was my computer.
I think it's one of the companies that does the ads because I get directed to the home page but the URL has the name of what looks like one of the ad companies.

I have Firefox, and under Internet Options I have it enabled to block popups. That's not Adblock? Is Adblock something you have to download? I Googled it, but got info on Adblock Plus. Things are happening too fast for me.
So Chrome is a browser like Firefox? I have Firefox and IE. Can you have too many browsers on your computer? If I download this Chrome thing too, am I asking for trouble?
orangeblueorangeblue

Either Chrome or Firefox is fine.
Adblock and Adblock Plus are essentially the same product. Download them. When there are problems with this site (malware, slowdowns, etc.) 99.999999% of the time it's remnant ad servers. Kill the ads and this site flies.

Thanks for the link for FF.
I had some trouble with this site a few days ago, and still have trouble with a lot of other sites, and one thing they seem to have in common is third-party ads that take their sweet time to download, during which time the browser is simply frozen. A program that blocks all ads sounds like manna from heaven.

This site (and many others) is almost unusable without it.
Also to ad to earlier points.... most tablets and phones with recent versions of Android are compatible with the mobile versions of chrome and firefox....though you'd be best to just use the app.

It's unlikely it would block it, and it's also unlikely StatCounter has any practical purpose.

It's on both personal and business pages, and it has the practical purpose of telling me which pages are being visited and how often.

I am retired and 76 years old, and have an old Gateway that the Indians kicked Columbus in the butt for bringing over here.
If i were running a business i would have thrown this thing out the first day. But, i use it for the Gators, ESPN, to print info, and a few other things.
I never know when it will die, then bring me back to where i was (usually). Most times i have to do a restore when i log on. These are some of the things it will do.
So, as far as i know i have never had a problem with the forum.

Well those trackers are massively flawed at measuring it. I'm surprised they still exist. But I doubt they'd be blocked by Adblock. If they were you can always whitelist them.

You definitely shouldn't be using an old style counter to monitor page traffic. Whoever you use for web hosting should have a free traffic stats access that's much more accurate, professional and has significantly more details.

I've used IE for years on this site with no problems whatsoever... until the past week. My computer freezes/locks up on this site, too, and no other site.
I have to do the refresh thing every time to get a page to load; and it often takes 15 or 20 minutes before it finally does. Now that I know to actually double-click on refresh, it loads a little quicker; but there's no way for others to find out what's going on because they can't get in here.
This is happening to a whole lot of Gator fans, as I've gotten at least a dozen PM's on other sites asking me if I know what's going on. Fans are actually being forced to discuss it on other sites because they can't open this thread to say anything.
If all the fans who are having a problem could open this thread to report it, it'd be at least 20 or 30 pages long. It's most definitely a site problem.
