Ed Koch and all the other Jews who supported Obama are getting exactly what they deserve. They, of all people, should understand the proverb "As ye sow so also shall ye reap". Some day they will wake up to the fact that the left is antisemitic and anti-Israel.

Israel doesnt seem too troubled by Hagel. Moreover, I'm not sure why Israel should be a factor at all in who serves in a US cabinet position, but carry on.

How did Obama renege?
By not appointing a neocon, apparently.

Yeah, you can see how Obama walked right into that trap. Its like when he pledged to unite the country and then didn't completely adopt Republican positions on everything, thereby becoming a divider. ;)

Who has more credibility regarding Obama's support of Israel, the former mayor of NYC or the Israeli defense minister?
Barak endorses Barack, touts US security support

In what appears like a clear endorsement of a presidential candidate, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Monday night that Barack Obama has been the most supportive president on matters of Israeli security throughout the two countries’ diplomatic relations.link (http://www.jpost.com/Defense/Article.aspx?id=279521)
Chuck Hagel would not be my first choice for Secretary Defense, but let's not forget that US policy with respect to Israel originates at the White House and State Department. The Sec. of Defense designate will have a relatively minor advisory role at the most.

By the time Obama finishes kissing the a$$es of every Islamist leader in the Middle East Israel will be in a worse fix than now (if that were possible). The appointments of Hagel and Brennan send a message to the Muslim Brotherhood and the Russians that Obama is now reelected and very "flexible". This is a policy of weakness towards radical Islam which will drive a wedge between the US and its only democratic ally in the region. At the end of Obama's lame duck term someone will have to clean up the mess.

So for all the conservative outrage, none of them actually say how Obama actually reneged?
