I am not sure if this will be of interest, but a couple of weeks ago the Atlanta Journal Constitution presented their High School All-State Teams voted on by the Georgia High School Coaches Association. There is only a First Team and Honorable Mention for each classification and listed below is how our commitments (and targets) fared:

- Octavious Jackson (OL): First Team Class 6A (Georgia's highest)

- Jarren Davis (LB): First Team Class 6A

- Demarcus Robinson (WR): First Team Class 3A
* I am sure about first team, but not sure about classifaction

[B]- Antonio Riles (DE): Did not make either team

[B]- Marqui Hawkins (WR): Did not make either team[B]
* This was weird because his High School team is pretty strong (Carver-Columbus). Same place our buddy:laugh: Jarvis Jones graduated from.

Targets:

[B]- Montravius Adams (DL): First Team Class A

On another note the AJC also comes up with their [B]Super 11[B] at the beginning of each year, which in their opinion are the best 11 players in the state. Both Demarcus Robinson and Montravius Adams made that team.

Jarrad Davis is going to be the nicest surprise in this entire class. Gut feeling...

If he's better than what my gut feeling tells me that Joey Ivie is going to be, then he'll be defensive rookie of the year. Rolin might turn out to be better than both of them once he's healthy.

Ivie is my guy as well. Like Morrison before him, I think he'll end up being an underrated 4 star recruit.

Georgia is only slightly behind Florida and Texas as a source of top HS football prospects.

It is interesting to see so many high level Georgia prospects committed to the Gators.

Thanks for the breakdown Patsyruth.

For all of the "extraordinary" claims made about Florida's inablity to dominate its own state, I find it interesting that Georgia only has seven of the state's top 25 prospects (according to Rivals) committed. Alabama has just five of the top 25 instate prospects going to Tuscaloosa. Tennessee also has just five of the state's top 25 players going to UT. Clemson and South Carolina only have three prospects a piece ranked among the top 20 on the way to their respective schools.

We have 12 of the top 23 instate prospects on their way to UF. Considering the competition Florida goes up against, that is amazing.

You are welcome Themistocles.............

As a side note, the AJC had their top 75 players in state listing in Sunday's paper and Jarren Davis, Demarcus Robinson, Antonio Riles and Marqui Hawkins made the list, however, Octavious Jackson did not. How you can be First Team All-State in Georgia's highest classification and not be in the top 75 is beyond me, but they omitted him.

The list was done alphabetically so there was not way of determing where each recruit ranked on the list. Take care.

I'm also going to go with Jarrad Davis as my under-the-radar star of the class.

FYI it's "Jarrad Davis", not Jarren.

We are recruiting Jarran Reed though! :)
