that's crazy. Really have to try to lose with that much talent on a roster.

Boy, if LSU is rebuilding next year then Bama's schedule looks pretty good if they get past Texas A&M with a win. Even if they lose that on the road, it is early enough in the season to recover in the polls though they may have a tough game in Starkville. Auburn,Tennessee,Arky and Kentucky all having new coaching staff coming in.

Aug. 31 Virginia Tech Atlanta, Georgia
Sept. 14 *at Texas A&M College Station, Texas
Sept. 28 *Ole Miss Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 5 Georgia State Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 12 *at Kentucky Lexington, Kentucky
Oct. 19 *Arkansas Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 26 *Tennessee Bryant-Denny Stadium
Nov. 9 *LSU Bryant-Denny Stadium
Nov. 16 *at Miss State Starkville, Mississippi
Nov. 23 Chattanooga Bryant-Denny Stadium
Nov. 30 *at Auburn Auburn, Alabama

One word... Dessimated. Biggest losses are Minter and Faulk. O line coulda used Faulk. Minter had most tackles on the team and single handedly kept them in the game against us with open field tackles... 15 in the first half

LSU has recruited well so they will not be an easy win, even with all the attrition. They were 5 deep at running back and a freshman was their best back.

Yeah but they have plenty of talent. Its to be expected a lot of times at the big time SEC schools. You play well you leave.

It's hard to hate on Bama right now. But I still maintain their 2-3 patsies every year are simply pathetic. At least we play USF, Bowling Green, etc.

They have Georgia State and Chattanooga. That's awful.

Good points. They've recruited well, but I'm not sure the last couple classes have provided the kinds of guys they're used to in the front-seven on D. That's where LSU really makes its hay....there and the running game.

I'm not sure any top program can sustain losing 10 guys like this and not expect a fairly decent drop-off. I'd say LSU next year will be like UT 2-3 years ago. We were superior in talent, but the game won't be an easy one.

They all think they are first round picks. About 35 juniors around think they will be first rounders.

I would take second or third round money anytime. Or seventh or eighth or ever how long it takes.

That's a lot... I wonder what the record is for number of underclassmen declaring for the NFL from a single team?

10 guys leaving and people are still in love with The Hat. He lost 3 games with an NFL roster.

I'm curious--how many is Bama losing?

I really believe that one of the keys to success is limiting your early defections to the NFL. Just as recruiting is important, hanging on to your star players is important. No team will ever keep all their NFL quality players in the roster for 4 or 5 seasons. But if you limit your defections, and have a culture of players wanting to stay, that is a key component of success.

Totally agree. Look at all of our NC teams and you'll find that we had the best players from the previous season coming back. Sometimes you can achieve that when your best players are sophomores, and that is really where recruiting comes in.

I always thought "underclassmen" referred to Freshmen and Sophomores.

Alabama only has 2 conceivable real challenges, LSU and A&M. The rest should be cake walks. Until they meet us in ATL!

Sometimes you can achieve that when your best players are sophomores, and that is really where recruiting comes in.

You have to willing to play your freshman, so that they can make valuable contributions as sophomores and play like seniors during their third year.

If they're a legitimate NFL player, you're not going to get a fourth year out of them unless they have some kind of adversity such as an injury or lack of production.

There are now 67 underclassman that have declared, a new record (old record was last year w/ 65). There are still 4 days until the deadline to declare.

That's more than 2 full rounds of players (32 in each round). What do these guys think? There's only so many spots and roster spots (on NFL teams).
