Even Kentucky has a higher rated class than scUM for recruiting in 2013. Kind of sad, and funny. Makes me feel warm inside. Rivals, and ESPN both have Kentucky higher. We have 13 teams in the top 50, and 11 in the top 25 of class recruiting. Just kind of shows you the quality of opponents the SEC plays week in and week out. Kind of useless information but I thought I would share lol.

Miami is getting to be so irrelevant, we don't even get excited about them recruiting poorly. That's pathetic. f$u isn't doing too well either, though they have a lot of ships left to give. Not sure who will still be around to help their class. Sure don't expect them to get away with picking Bama's pocket again.

Agreed, I just figured this information would solidify that everyone's going to have a great day today... Because when scUM struggles were all happy!

Nothing struggles better than a struggling CoCane...
Yes... it is:
"Another day in Gator Paradise..."
"It is 5 O'Clock somewhere..."
"Why yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus..."
"Oh yea, they are real..."
And on and on....

Anyone want to complain about how long that NCAA investigation takes?
I say drag it out for two more years.

Miami will close well this year. The have a big Visit weekend on January 18th and they will bring home a few solid recruits.

Make no mistake about it: Next years game in Miami will be a hugely big deal for them, their coaches and their city.

It should be a big deal for us too. We have some work to do to restore order to this series.
2008 was a positive step, but they're due some beatings. A lot of them.

When the hammer drops, I hope they have like 30 transfer requests and have to play iron man football with rich white boy walk-ons...Those are the dbags you love to hate.
This game is HUGE! I have a trash talking Miami fan friend that thinks it will be close. LEAVE NO DOUBT! THIS STATE IS OWNED BY ONE TEAM!

Some of its timing. We happened to play them a lot in an era where we were average and they were elite or very good.
They had a four year win streak between 1978-1981.
Then a six game streak between 1986-2004.
They also did well against us in the 1950's when we were .500 team most years and they were going to bowls with Andy Gustafson. Of course, they were nailed for cheating by the NCAA in 1954. Common thread, eh?

They will nevertheless be up for the game next September. We have to bury them to seal the deal on their irrelevancy.

We have to do all we can... I bet if Florida goes into Miami and destroys them in front of the home crowd, and this will make it the second win in a row, that recruits from there will be more willing to play at UF

I think Florida players after Louisville will be more ready than ever.... The ones returning wont let that down, maybe they can use that as motivation towards all next season, as the. 08' team used losing to ole miss towards the rest of their campaign

Then we better make this one count because Foley has been pretty adamant about this being the last scUM game he'll schedule. As it stands right now, we have a better team than they do. Just have to come ready to play because scUM will come out fired up. Their fans really want this game so they might actually show up and make some noise.

scUM's fall from grace steady, stunning
Miami's 2013 class has only 12 commitments and was mentioned as one of the most disappointing in the country, with National Signing Day days away.
There are no five-star players in the class and only one player in the Rivals100 -- Al-Quadin Muhammad, who hails from Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep and not talent-rich south Florida. The elephant in the room is the looming sanctions coupled with a horrific exit from the Randy Shannon era in recruiting....it didn't help them more than we could ever know.
"They have been waiting on the NCAA for its findings, and it seems as though the NCAA is just going to drag it out as long as possible and that is hurting as well."

The current recruiting class is down from No. 9 in 2012 to No. 63 with just three days until the final standings are tabulated. http://www.fiero.nl/forum/smilies/smiley_rofl.gif

With all the talent down there (in the South Florida area) there's no excuse for them to be worse than 9-3. They had a few close games last season, but also won a few close ones. They return a lot of starters for 2013. But with the NCAA sanctions hanging over their head you can't blame kids for not wanted to go there.

The SwampGas Sanctimony Committee will have to convene to give us their opinion on whether using the term "scUM" is "junior high", silly, juvenile, immature, inappropriate or otherwise unacceptable. If the opinion of the Sanctimony Committee is affirmative, the term "scUM" shall be banished from these pages forevermore. Those guilty of defying the ban shall be deemed "junior high", silly, juvenile, immature, inappropriate or otherwise unacceptable by the aforementioned Committee.

In fairness they had 33 last year, so 33 + 12 = 22.5 average over two years. Not that traumatic and the young players could improve.

The NCAA dragging their feet on levying sanctions is whats hurting them the most. Even if the sanctions are somewhat severe they would be in a better position to sell UM to recruits than they are now, trying to sell the unknown is tough. Cristobal & Coley are both great S Fla recruiters, they will get good players. The longer the NCAA drags this thing out the better it is for UF.

Truly back where they belong: the University of New Jersey at Coral Gables. Guidos, Snookis, snowbirds and rich Staten Island kids make up the majority of their student body, so might as well have those Joisey boys on the team.

No doubt they would have higher attendance numbers for their home games if they were played in the Jets/Giants stadium in East Rutherford NJ instead of the Miami Dolphins Stadium in Miami Gardens FL. :)

I was listening to Dan Sileo a little bit ago and hes absolutely ripping Al Golden and his class. Sileo is laughing at Golden's philosophy of 60% Fla kids and 40% out of state. Sileo also said that AG has put ZERO effort into recruiting the inner cities. Joe Rose asked AG about his lack of interest/effort in recruiting inner cities and he basically avoided the question. He began rambling on about his football clinic and how he doesn't make a penny coaching the camp and how affordable it is....he was stumbling and stammering. It was a horrible interview for AG. He sounded really bad.
I love listening to sports talk down here this week. Its absolutely hilarious. They didn't recruit one difference maker and their best player is from NY while they reside in the most talent-rich area in the country. LOL Too funny

This class has to hurt, but won't manifest itself for a couple seasons.
When we play miami we'll have a more talented 2-3 deep, likely be better conditioned, and certainly have a better coaching staff. We should win that one, not worried about it.

I hope you're right, but sometimes we have a way of disappearing when playing UM. This will be an interesting game and I hope to be at The Swamp South Florida.
