So the latest news on Demarcus is he has not made a decisions yet and his mother is not home yet.
The 247 guys on twitter made reference to the fact that they may have spoken with his mother and that there was an update. Not sure if there was any substance to that.

Nothing wrong with a little greed. Adams, Daniels, Walker are key(Dont think Walker is happening would be a pleasant suprise though. After all he would be comfortable playing with friends and having guys from home with you.) I think a FB and T.E. are more important than Collins and Ramsey and would take Alexander first if we could choose.

Just huge! IMO, Dunbar is the ONLY WR that is a starter and that is because he will work like he is not. Everything else is WIDE open.
I also wonder if Trey Burton isn't going to what to play more WR/TE to have another playermaker pass catcher? I would like to see him with a real position and fighting for the starting RB position might be the right choice for his future.

Can't Trey Burton play the role of the smallish TE to go with the more prototype Kent Taylor ? I know he does that in a sense. I'm talking about in a more established manner.

I didn't see the game, nor have I ever heard that he had explosive speed. Only published 40 time I ever saw for him was 4.6. I suspect he has the mythical quality known as "football speed." Seen his clips and he is definitely smooth, has very soft hands and can jump out of the stadium.
Glad to hear he's on board. Really glad I didn't sit on Twitter or GC all morning to find out. For once this time of year, I'm actually too busy.

Don't know enough to compare their skills but Robinson appears to be taller and about 25lbs heavier than Cooper. If he has skills anything even remotely close to Cooper, he's going to be really special.

RAZ is arguing that 4.6 is an old time, that he's run 4.4's since, and that he is truly explosive, much moreso than a Fullwood.

I think that's what makes me think he resembles Amari Cooper so much. Demarcus isn't fast...but he wastes no movement in his routes, is a good route runner, and his best ability is to high point the ball. Go watch his video...it's amazing how high he can jump along with his catching ability.

I never said Fulwood is not fast. Robinson is a bit more explosive and quicker. Robinson gets up to full speed faster then Fulwood. They could run the same 40 time but have different 20 meter times

Published combine times can confuse reality. Fullwood ran in the mid 4.4 range at some combine. Robinson may have only gone to one and had a bad day.

Robinson reminds me (recent history) of Da'Rick Rodgers the headcase from UT. If that guy had a full deck of cards, he'd be a top 10 draft pick. Robinson is an inch or two shorter but has that same smooth running style and is physical enough to get himself open.

Why all the trashing of Driskel?
I really can't stand folks who expect every player that comes to UF to be able to play at the level of a first round NFL draft pick the minute they suit up for the Gators. It really is a ridiculous standard. Need I remind you people that we instituted our 3rd offensive system in three years this past season?!!!? Do you have even the slightest clue as to how difficult that is for any player, let alone the Quarterback!!
Add to this that Driskel was forced to split all of his reps throughout the entire Spring with Brissett cutting his ability to progress in half. Throw in the hardest schedule in the entire nation, the last minute loss of our position coach for wide receivers leaving us with a grad assistant the entire year, and Muschamp's own determination to run no matter what, and I think Driskel did a pretty fair job.
We ended up 11-1 and then the whole team took a dump in the bowl game which no one was excited about in the least.
But by all means lets blame everything on our true sophomore Qb and demand we hand cuff our team again by replacing him with an even less experienced player next year.
I swear some people around here have the common sense of a bag of hammers with the football acumen to match.
Does Driskel need to improve his ability to make check downs to secondary receivers?...absolutely, but guess what helps that develop?...experience and reps.
Try supporting our players and coaches and allow them to develop without the insane demands of instant perfection. You might just be suprised what our team is capable of without derision from our own f-ing fan base...jeez!!!

Don't forget a much easier schedule for next year.
Plus Driskel getting all the starter reps all Spring.
Plus we have a coach for the Wide Recievers.
Plus stud athletes who are all 100% Muschamp guys.
I like those odds that we might be better on offense.

We will have some serious competition at the receiver position. Naturally, D-Rob has the upper hand by coming in early. But I would not count out any of the other guys. Receiver is a position where you can come in and make an impact as a true freshman. We've had a few notable instances in which this has been the case.

Those aren't "odds," they are "factors."
I seem to recall the day when people said: "Plus stud athletes who are all 100% Meyer guys." This is, of course irrelevant to anything of importance, regarding how well a player performs - that relates to the individual player, no matter who recruited him, and his relationship with the team/coaches/playing style.
Further, "...might be better on offense." when one is talking about the team that was 10th in the SEC in scoring offense, and 12 in Total Offense, while ranking 77th in the nation in Scoring Offense, and 103rd in Total Offense - that simply is not saying much. Perhaps an improvement to 9th in the SEC and 65th in the nation - GREAT!!!

Is there really more to the story? I don't know if I want to know..I'm tired of it. Hope his mom likes his blocking ability because he'll only get on the field if he can block for Gilleslie or Driscoll...it sure as hell won't be because of his hands in the foreseeable future

Good Luck to him. Just glad its over. I hope that if he wants to transfer after a year and he wants to transfer to us that Dabo says NOPE!
Re: DeMarcus Robinson Tweet
Unfortunately I can' treat him respectful...yeah he is only 18 blah blah blah...sorry the last I check 18 is still a man, whats worse is that he held a schollie of ours for half a year, and what problem did his mom have then in June? He would have gotten pissed if we kept recruiting WR's but we are not allowed to get pissed when he waits till the last second to switch and have us left in the dust?, i'm not worried about the WR position..but someone lied to someone straight up in this cycle and it pisses me off. If you're not man enough to tell someone flat out no and just carry them along until you get into your car and leave you're a momma's boy.

QB - Bit of a whiff, but one we can (hopefully) afford with Grier coming in '14.
RB - Awesome tandem. Getting someone like Alex Collins would put the RB haul over the top.
WR/TE - A deeper and more diverse group than any of us could have imagined a year ago. If you had told me a year ago that we'd get Fullwood and Robinson, I'd have said you were crazy.
OL - Adding in the JUCOs and transfers, and this is the type of group we needed last year (or the year before, or the year before...). Should be an absolute bedrock for the next four seasons.
DL - Still have some fish in the water, but Brantly, Ivey, and Sherit will all get considerable PT down the line. A star at "true" DE, DT, or both would make this a very acceptable class, given the group we brought in last year.
LB - Deep. Versatile. Physical. In-State. Everything we needed at backer in this class. Getting Hearns and McMillain so early really set the tone for how dominant we'd be in-state this year.
DB - Where do you start? One of the best corners to come out of high school in the last decade, two huge hitters at safety, a CB/S who has been our biggest recruiter, and still a chance at Ramsey or Alexander? Incredible.
This is a truly amazing class, and not one that we'll be waiting on NSD magic for.

What I like about this class is in the breakdown of positions. We have at least four positions where the talent has been upgraded with playmakers....RB, WR, LB and CB.
Both lines have also been upgraded although I'd say the DL needs a stud like Walker or Adams to put it over the top.
Garcia was a nice addition to the OL, but we don't know what we have yet in Brown or I'd put them in the first group as well.
This is just a really solid class when it's viewed together. Not any Percy Harvin's or Tim Tebow's in here, but it's a class that can be a bedrock of future success.

Thinking Staver has a lot of upside... BIG dude but I cannot judge his mobility or speed. But if already 235 and 6'5"+ he's going to be a lot to handle.
RB - Awesome tandem. Getting someone like Alex Collins would put the RB haul over the top.
No kidding, if we get Collins as well, look out. Frankly I believe we really need him. He's such a strong and determined runner. Easy to think "we have two good RBs" but all good RBs are not equal and I think Collins brings a dimension that teams cannot prepare for with stablemates like Taylor and Lane. It's just too much.
Alexander, Daniels, Collins and Adams would be a finishing touch to an already great recruiting class. If we have room...
Yes, either two of Daniels, Adams, DWalk, or Bostwick would be a haul at DL.

Don't know. No explanations given. From all accounts earlier, they were supposed to leave I presume around noon and be in Gainesville at 4:30. Then nothing until well after he was supposed to arrive and come to find out they never left. Could be nothing and it certainly doesn't mean that he's wavering or not 100% committed to UF.
But assuming he's still in Fort Valley, even if he's totally committed to UF, that means all those Clemson influences are lurking around and you know the Clemson coaches will be calling tonight. I doubt Muschamp or the coaching staff will feel confident on Robinson until he's on the UF campus and away from those influence.

I would think that the kid has made his choice and that should be it. I know another 3-4 hours in the car sure would not be something I'd be interested in after that long drive.
After all of this, I think the young man has made his choice and realizes that it was time to step up and just do it. Hahaha! It's almost funny that you actually believe that. I can only assume you haven't been following recruiting long. ;)
I will state my point again. It is not that Robinson has changed his mind. I don't think that's the reason he isn't here.
My point is that assuming he is at home in Fort Valley, regardless of where his mind and his mother's mind is, all those Clemson influences are going to be around him for another night. You know the Clemson coaches are calling. And you can be sure his high school coach, who seems adamant that he should be in Clemson is going to at least try to make a visit tonight. You can almost bet on it.
Hopefully he and his mom won't answer the phone and won't talk to the HS coach, but the coach is apparently a big influence on him, so I suspect they will talk. If they do, I hope Robinson and his mom stay strong. But remember that it was this same HS coach who changed his mind quickly the last time Robinson committed to UF.
I don't think this is 100% over until Robinson is on campus.

A lot of what I said was tongue on cheek. Obviously there is always a chance and his high school coach will probably be trying to get in his ear. Still, this seems like the end game today, as there was no reason for him to need to state his choice before enrolling. If I were his family, I would be allowing no calls or contact from anyone else once he confirmed that was his choice. That, to me, is the role of his parents.
Tomorrow will tell the tale, but I cannot remember the last time there was so much craziness around a potential recruit. I think it underscores the importance of the position. Having an elite receiver may be all it takes to get us over the top next year. If he's as good as people say, he will be that outside target to open up the ground and pound even more.

Read my post again. I've already seen those. They don't really look much better than O. Hines or F. Hammond's film coming out of high school. Definitely not better than A. Debose.
In addition to being big, fast and silky-smooth, he's much more polished than any of those you listed. And basically he abused the best corners in the nation this past week.
I do agree with you that Debose had the most electrifying video of any highschool player I've seen, including Percy Harvin. But he is what he is now.

Your post:
You're missing how to judge for yourself.
You really don't see how good he is on your own? He's big, fast and he can catch..... What more do you want?
And finally, if the coaches want him so do I.
"He's big, fast and he can catch." Wow. Man I really want him. He must be an AJ Green type.
What do I want? I just wanted some justification on the hype. There are no drop your jaw, Julio Jones, AJ Green, type plays. Not saying he has to have a full tape of plays like those guys, but not even one play. The tapes really aren't that superior to some of our other commits.
I just feel like people need to calm it down on this kid. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even play much next year. Go ahead and save my post.

The recent vid RAZ posted made my jaw drop. He's more polished than the two others you've just listed. Want to mention Charles Johnson coming out of highschool ? Yep, more polished than him too.

I disagree on the schedule. Going to USC and LSU, plus adding in Toledo and Miami for cupcakes, makes it just as hard as this year IMO.
We don't get A&M or Bama, those are the positives.
We have to play LSU and South Carolina every year no matter what. In the years we play them away this is off set IMO by playing Tennessee, Vanderbilt (no longer the league whipping boy), and REFsu at home. For me this is a wash.
I argue the schedule is easier due to the location of our bye weeks primarily and the loss of Texas A&M from the slate. We get Miami in a state of disarray and expect us to curb stomp those cheating bitches. Then we get a week to prepare for Tennessee. That's good.
We conveniently get Arkansas at home after they imploded this year and have to start over with a new coach before we have to go to LSU in a year they lose alot of players...this is good too.
Finally, we get a bye week before Georgia and a patsie before REFsu, this is great.
Schedule looks alot better to me than this year.

Those aren't "odds," they are "factors."
I wasn't referring to the factors I had just outlined. I was referring to those odds saying we'll be better as opposed to those that say we won't. But I could see how it needed a quick criticism/snarky "I'm so smart" correction...lol
I seem to recall the day when people said: "Plus stud athletes who are all 100% Meyer guys." This is, of course irrelevant to anything of importance, regarding how well a player performs - that relates to the individual player, no matter who recruited him, and his relationship with the team/coaches/playing style.
I think we can agree to disagree on this point. I will, however, in support of my position, point out the whole "broken program" mentality that has been discussed ad nauseum. I will also point out that though individual performances may differ player to player, it's always better to have guys you personally picked for your system based on how their talents and attitudes fit than to try to get as much as you can from a guy you yourself didn't pick at all. I expect we will continue to get better production out of guys Muschamp recruited himself as those recruited by Meyer phase out.
I am willing to bet you a sig line challenge that we better those predicted numbers. Put your negativism and doubt vs. my optimism and confidence to the test.

Based on his vid I don't have any questions about either mobility or arm strength. I hear he struggled in some games this year, but his drops and mechanics looked very grown-up to me.
I watched him play a couple times this year and he has all the physical tools to be a good pro style QB. The big areas I see for improvement are the mental aspects. When to check down, reading coverages, which passes need to be touch (precision) or bullet ones, etc.
