If this was Bush or a Republican, the media would be in a feeding frenzy (think sharks with blood being dumped in the water). But the libbie media thinks it just wonderful that Obama goes to Hawaii for 2 weeks, plays 7 rounds of golf and is ferried back and forth to DC (TWICE) costing approximately $2.5 M in taxpayer funds for transportation and security.

As far as I'm concerned, we did not miss him when he was gone and I wished he'd take a month's vacation every month for the next four years as it would save us a ton of money and he will not do as much damage.

Money is no object when you are.....the Chosen One. The Messiah. The All-Knowing, All- Perfect One.

Screw Obama---we are stuck with the POS for 4 more years. Unfortunately we have to get accustomed to HIS wasteful spending while the country's economy is in the tank.

He is Obama--The Hypocrite Supreme.

The stupidity and blind hatred of Obama by red-state, budget-sucking, white folks who barely graduated from high school is nearing hysterical proportions.

And to think we have to listen to their patent falsehoods, knee-jerk stereotyping, and chain mails rumors with no basis in reality for the next 4 years is going to be tremendously entertaining to say the least...

You mean the chosen one is spending like a drunken sailor? You really can't be surprised,

back in the day people would go to the county carnival to see the geek bite the heads off of chickens or the obese lady with a skinny husband, etc...

those days are gone but at least we have modern day pubs to entertain us...carnie geek style.

Of course it's a lot of money, of course Obama should at the very least consider the optics of a long Hawaii vacation the week he raises taxes.
But the outrage would carry a heck of lot more weight if it hadn't magically appeared when this president took power, considering the last one took more vacation than any in history.

Nice intellectual response to 2.5 million dollar vacation when the Dems are claiming they won't make any cuts and want even higher taxes than the Clinton tax rate. Typical liberal

It's funny how the right had nothing to say about all of Bush's incursions.

It's like vacations started with the Obama's.

Bush went to his ranch. That is hardly a Christmas/New Years Hawaii vacation. Lets be honest here. Do we really think all vacations are equal?

"Blind hatred"...??? Nothing blind about it chump. All one has to do is open the eyes to see how this liar says one thing to the mulititudes of lemmings who elected him, but his actions are a complete reversal...especially when it involves his personal 'examples' he sends to the country. Hawaii for vacation....yeah, right. Keep believing in your savior as he shows to those of us who DO see him for he is...and has been all along.

Blind hatred is not the case with Obama--it is "earned" by his actions. The only blind thing about Obama are the morons who support him blindly with no regard for common sense or prudent actions. Typical liberal thinking to match their self appointed arrogance.

No, but quantity can sometime trump quality. Figure three hours each way just to Crawford, that's 6 hours per trip. 77 trips in his 8 years times 6 hours per equals 462 hours. Current estimates of the cost of AF1 per hour at around 180k. So not even counting the dozens of Camp David trips, the other family trips, the costs beyond AF1 which are massive, he spent $83 million. The full number all in is probably double or triple that.

Again I am in no way justifying a Hawaii trip the week he raises taxes, I am just wondering where the outrage was when Bush was doing far more travel at far more cost.

I think the smartest most economical measures the President uses is He flies in one Jet
and his wife flies in another jet because their schedules conflict. Air Force One is not adequate enough for both to travel together.

do two wrongs make a right?

when do we determine that we deserve better? when our guy is no longer in office? Bush spent too much, Obama is making him look like a cheapskate.

I bet the logistical operations and the vacation expenses in Crawford are a hell of a lot cheaper than Hawaii.

Also, the president usually takes two jets. The second one carries the logistical support the president needs for a trip.

U.S. taxpayers spend somewhere around 20 times more on the president, than the British royal family. Just another in a long line of shit from our morally bankrupt leaders, that needs to come to a halt. The presidential freaking dog handler reportedly makes 100k.

This is all I am saying, I am just waiting for the day someone makes a thread like this about their own party's abuses. That's when I will take their outrage seriously.

Don't think clearing brush on his own ranch is in the same ball park. And I seriously doubt transportation, housing and security expenses for Bush's travels will be 25% of what the King and his queen have spent. And if you add in spring break trips for offspring...

And that had been the pattern for decades until now. The presidents would vacation at their ranches or second homes, or go to Camp David. Not anymore.

True. And when you stop and think about it, there's not much to do in Kenya anyway so it is kinda hard to blame Hussein from wanting to spend time at 'home' on vacation.
