Looked ready to contribute right away.

Wow. Excited about these young men joining the Gators.

Did not get to focus on R. Johnson, but sure that he represented well also.

In Christ forever,

It's hard to tell for sure because it's still highschool football, but it sure looked like VH3 will be moving someone out of the starting lineup or over to safety. Wish we had him against Louisville.

Yeah Watkins looked lost against FSU even. He had some very poor tackling "attempts" as well.

Watkins stepped up big time this season after playing aggressive but sloppy as a sophomore. Everybody has bad games, especially cornerbacks against great QBs and big receivers.

how many games have most people seen VH3 play this year? Watkins has played well all year so has Roberson and Purifoy. Did you miss the season where we won 11 games with a pedestrian offense? How do you think that happen?

^^^Exactly. Why do people on this board feel it is necessary to tear people down. We had a great season--not perfect, but great. I don't care if we win by 1 point or 35 points. A win is a win and that is all that counts. When it was 3rd and 1 and Tebow ran it for 1 1/2 were you same guys pissed because he didn't pick up 5? Come on!

Sign of the times. People see so many games, they begin to think this stuff is easy at the same crazy time they learn to dismiss the talent and effort of our opponents.

Our D has been great all season. That's what hurt about the Sugar Bowl. And it also allowed me to see just how well Teddy played, even after taking that teeth-rattling hit at the beginning of the game.

Trust Muschamp, Pease & Quinn. We're in great shape. And yes, sunshine pumper that I am, I still believe in Driskel 100 percent.

I still remember posts this year calling Elam overrated and an underachiever or describing Purifoy as terrible. Most fans go back a game or two and that is about it. If Watkins struggled against Louisville, he is terrible. Roberson was better than Watkins and Purify probably improved enough to be considered the best of the group by season's end, but Watkins was very solid. He has decent ball skills, great cross field speed, and good man coverage technique. Won't ever be a big hitter, but he is an outstanding college cover corner.

But let's just toss in a true freshman instead of a starting corner on the nation's best pass efficiency defense (despite not having a good upfield pass rusher). That's smart. Let's also ditch Quinn because he used too much zone against Louisville.

People are just being reactionary because of the bad loss. Our secondary, despite losing our two safeties will likely be a team strength. We will be very strong at corner.

It is how they carry themselves. You know they had a short week of practice and they looked confident and moved with purpose. Love Taylor barking at the QB and trying to run the show. Bailey moves without fear. He should compete in the return game right away, especially if Debose can earn more time in the pass game.

VH3, what can you say? He is the best HS CB I recall since Lito Sheppard. So far ahead of everyone else. He will be in the two deep, even with Roberson, Watkins, Purifoy and the return of Riggs. VH3 will play early and often.

Quinn IS a fabulous coach (noted sarcasm from our illustrious rserina.:) )I'd say he's as good as Charlie. Might not be that good a recruiter yet, but that isn't my expertise. He gets a mulligan for this last game. There were a few games we were wondering about Charlie too. After seeing A&M spank the Sooners I'm amazed our D held Johnny Football in check and we came out with a win. That kid is such a stud it's scary. Our staff IMHO is very good. UL Qb was a stud too. Very, very good passer. I think he possesses skills many kids will never develop. We're in a good position for next year. Go Gators.

Honestly first game all season I thought our corners for exposed and we did a good job of pressuring TB

The receiversade nice plays and he made great throws ....to me a huge key to the loss

Well vh3 will definitely see plenty of pt this year. Special teams and giving breathers. He should be a very good back up. I feel he may even surprise some people on here just how much pt he may see. With his dad being a coach, I am sure he has a high football iq

Marcus Roberson
Loucheiz Purifoy
Jaylen Watkins
Cody Riggs
Vernon Hargreaves III

I say whoever has played the most nickel between Watkins and Purifoy moves to one of the safety spots. Then VHIII and Riggs see time at corner and nickel. The coaches were also high on Brian Poole's bowl preparation. A lot of talent in this secondary.

If not start, then alternate start.

This was a very strong defensive backfield during this season.

Quinn mentioned how good Poole has looked at least a couple of times in media conferences leading up to the bowl game. Sounds like a future contributor if not a star. Muschamp and Robinson can identify talent and coach 'em up. "Fans" that are critical of our corners because of the Louisville game aren't very astute.

Think he can start, and purifoy, moves to WR fulltime if some WR don't pan out for us. He's the real deal as good as jenkins was as a freshman allready. Also alexander is a player who could push for time if we land him

AZ jumps on me every time I suggest Purifoy move to SS, but he knows more about player personnel on this team than I do, so I suspect Watkins is the more likely suspect. Nice size and speed combo for either safety spot. Showers might be ready to take over the other spot. Don't know where Poole ends up. He's another highly versatile defender, but I loved his high school clips at corner. No idea where Ledbetter and Maye are development wise.

Forgot that this is a recruiting thread. I guess I should say something about VH3. He's special, plus I like the numeral in his name. I'm a 3rd as well.

No way our best cb in 2013 moves to WR, imo. If SOS or Urban were HC, maybe. No way with CWM.

I think Roberson will be our best cover corner in 2013. Purifoy is a better playmaker, but we heard his name more than Roberson's this year. The less you hear a cornerback's name, the better.
