Stumbled across this show while scrolling DirectV and am addicted to it. Went out and purchased the book after seeing the first episode.
My thoughts, knowing Oliver Stone's standing with regard to left/right, if one third of this is true, we are a pretty sh***y country at times. Born and breed military, and a lover of this country, at 65 so much of this is hard to believe.
And I thought all Ike did was play golf.......

Just goes to show the length some in this Country went to fight Communism lying about their capability outspending them into oblivion.
Johnson cursed more than a Gansta Rapper.
It gives great insight into Khrushchev.

Stone is a nutcase.
Ad Hominem does not make the truth, untrue.
Most Americans would be shocked if they knew the truth. Watch the movie on Lincoln and one will see that things are not the black and white we wish to believe. The world is lived in many shades of gray.
Stone clearly shapes things from his POV (as do we all,) but, he also tells parts of the story that are purposely omitted by others.
