Even with Bama now aware of Demarcus' intentions to apply for EE, I think Pruitt's departure will make it tougher for the rest of the Bama staff to get back in his ear. Also, while he was always aware of his close friend going to UF and the school's proximity to Jax, he might not have expected our D to perform as well as Bama's did this year. That, along with Pruitt bolting, must make us look awfully compelling to DW right now.

Well the coaches get one call a week. Other than that they can contact him through facebook and twitter and tell him to call them. If Nick Saban tells Walker to call him so they can set up a Skype appointment I assume Walker is going to do it.

There's really no difference between calling a recruit and contacting them via Facebook. The recruit still has the power to answer. I believe a dead period should be just that; especially since its during the holidays.

This is nothing new. Every year there's an ambitious idiot trying to pull ahead in the "game" and breaks a story before it should have ever been told. Usually they get defensive too. I'll be curious to see the fallout here. Not sure we'll ever know the full story though.

He only said that he was filling out an application at Florida and that it was now a possibility that Demarcus could come to Florida. I see nothing wrong with that unless I'm missing what you are saying.

Abolverdi is a poor man's substitute for the guys that left the Sun for ESPN. In Zach's defense though, his mail-stack does occasionally have some interesting tidbit of info... but more often than not, I swear he is just reading this board, 247 and ESPN and slapping together something in 10 mins.... I mean really. How long do you think it really takes him to put 5-6 Q&A's together? If that's what they're teaching at UF Journalism, then it's no wonder we lost that LB from Ocala that signed with Stanford for their journalism program.

Also, a fun new drinking game to play - Everytime Zach says he called someone but they didnt return his call - Take a drink.

And here's the hypocrisy of it all: For all the complaining, accusations of money exchanging hands, and all the whining about Robinson flipping back to Clemson, you're probably the same dude who started doing backflips when Fowler screwed the FSU staff on signing day.

This kind of info could have come out a week to 10 days later and still could have been too early. The thing about it is that he didn't run it by D Walker who could have said no, I don't want the story to come out yet, but I'll give you the exclusive in two weeks before I enroll. It's common sense, and as it is now, bad journalism as it has been denied by DW and Nick Washington so obviously he didn't want it coming out

I think there are 2 different types of local reporters. There are the guys who report on things regardless of how it will affect the local program and there are those that report to "help" the programs. A lot of it, IMO, is how the coaches react to the local reporting.

I personally hate that this was reported on from a team perspective for us, but at the same time, the American in me appreciates free press.

It's easier for a freshman to get in at DE over DT. With Easley gone or movin to DT, we could use another end, and Walker is good enough to get into the rotation early. We only have Kedrick Johnson and Bullard as SSDE right now with Easley moving to the inside, with Riles as a true freshman. A SSDE would be helpful for depth. Freshmen don't usually get in the rotation at DT, especially in the SEC

It has absolutely nothing to do with picking a second choice. It has to do with a recruit that is genuinely torn between two schools. If he's leaning toward Florida now and Bama finds out they'll redouble the pressure on him.

A lot of people thought there was a chance but nobody was for sure. Dante chose Florida because CWM recruited him hard and told him he could thrive at Buck and play early. Recruiting is a sales job and CWM closed the deal on Fowler

They elitist opinion seems to be that you don't want player A or player B because he has a problem making a huge life decision at 17-18. The competition for these kids is fierce I personally won't hold them weighing their options against them. As long as they don't bad mouth UF, it's coaches, fans, etc. no hard feelings. You win some you lose some.

GCG had some really good info and usually if he posted the emoticon with the shades, we almost always got that person. I think life got in the way of him being able to post and be in the loop. He also posted on other sites under a different name, which I forgot what it was. Something with "Tampa" in it. SUG had really good info as well, same with Gunit. AZ is the only one here with a lot of inside info right now.

I sure hope that all the factors that might influence DW to the gators come in to play. Close friends as teammates, proximity, and the significant improvement of the gators. I really feel like getting these two to commit would put us in the lead with Montravius Adams... With Floyd leaving and the class we are assembling, it would have to be hard for him to turn it down.

I wonder, as well, if we were to get Walker to flip, would we still go after DE's like Jason Hatcher and Elijah Daniel. My gut tells me yes. I could see Jordan Sherit red-shirting his first season, Rolin as well, that's why we have such depth at both (DE/LB) positions in this class.

With Ramsey's tweet tonight about the USC lost, I think he is pretty set to stay put. I am not holding out any type of hope for Ramsey. Mack Alexander, however, would be a pretty big get. I wonder how well his grades are or if there is any other type of risk.

That's what's great about EEs. They don't have to commit or sign before they start classes. They just enroll and it's over.
