No mention of our beatdown of FSU on the front page or on the Men's Basketball page...

I guarantee you if we even get on SportsCenter it will be the 50-60th minute portion despite there being no college football right now.
Even in our big games they will show everything obscure they can before showing us, if they do.

So, there's a conspiracy at ESPN against the basketball team now??
Come on, guys.
By the way, there's this tournament that they have at the end of the year that should settle everything. Your conspiracy shouldn't come into play.

No conspiracy theory. Just an observation.
They will be talking about us plenty towards the end of the year and maybe as soon as next week!

If you look at the ESPN's Twitter feed you see:
"The more Florida plays, the more Gators look like one of the best teams in the country. Two Elite 8s in a row no fluke for core group."
ANDY KATZ
"Said it on Marquette-Florida broadcast last week: Gators greater than the sum of its parts. No 1st rounder, IMO, but Final Four contender."

Plenty are talking about the Gators in a very positive light right now.
But it doesn't matter. Its all about the tourney.

Not to nitpick but does it annoy anyone when they call us a "Final Four contender"? Maybe it is the cocky Gator in me but we're a Final Four favorite.

Plenty of props during halftime of the games that were played in the 9pm slot.
I wish we'd stop with this persecution complex. We're good, everyone knows it.
we are good n getting better .... espn gave us props

The thing with this team is it lacks any aesthetic appeal whatsoever. We aren't great from the arc, don't have a bunch of great handlers, and outside of Young and maybe Prather don't finish very well. But we are as good in the half court defensively, whether in man or zone, as any team I've seen at Florida, and probably as good as any team without a shotblocker can be. We can matchup with anyone defensively. That won't make for a fun game or a bunch of ESPN highlights, but it sure will make for a successful season.

This is certainly the best defensive team in Florida history.
I think we are playing the best hoops in the country right now. Next week in Tucson will tell us a lot.

It's hard to claim no love from ESPN when every time I see them talking about college basketball I hear them saying that we are one of the best teams in the country :)

in most years i would agree - ESPN has been giving us our due this season though. Now when we beat Zona on the road, then things will really heat up...

I think contender is the strongest language used when talking about the final four from what I can remember hearing - never heard someone referred to as a final four favorite. I think its high praise to say contender and not meant literally.

This early in the season. The last few weeks they start talking about a couple of teams as final four teams rather than just contenders.

No problem with their coverage. They probably thought the win over FSU was no biggie. Now an Arizona win on the road will be media worthy.

espn has their favorites. Notre Dame, Kentucky, Yankees-Red Sox, you know the ones. Everyone will have to take a back seat. It's just ridiculous. Their fawning over Penn State was beyond bad.
