Sorry, we should continue to run, run and run. Wear them out. Billy is using 9-10 players....keep up the pressure.

I thought Braxton has played well when he has been in. Could he be in the dog house? He's barely sniffed the floor in the last few blowouts.

He did. He let it shrink to a 25 pt win and it could have been 40.

He did.

Yeah today he got 2+ minutes but if I remember correctly in the last two blowouts he got less than 2 minutes. I remember early in the season Billy played him here and there throughout the game, but he only gets in-in extreme garbage time lately. I thought he played well the times Billy played him. Wonder if its a work ethic thing in practice?

I think you gotta trust Billy at this.

Braxton will get him floor time. He's got to earn it. I haven't been particularly impressed when he get time.

My only question is around 7-8 minutes to go, in a 30 point blow out, why not rotate a FR in for 2 minutes? Braxton 2 minutes, then Walker, then Graham... etc They get time with the starters and get experience against a real team. I just don't get it.

he did. they were all in the last 2+ minutes

You are entitled to your opinion, maybe you're right. I have a level of trust in Billy, however, that exceeds my trust in your opinion.

I trust Billy 100%. He obviously develops players as well as any other coach and his record speaks for itself. I'm not necessarily saying he's wrong for not playing them because I guess he must have some reason, I'm just saying how bad could it be to add 1 FR in with the starters towards the end of a blowout?

I think Billy says the PG position is the hardest to learn so he has been giving Braxton a lot of time at the 2. Right know Fraizer is obviously ahead of him there. As far as practice, I think Boynton, Rosario, and even Scottie all need time working on their point skills more than Braxton right now since they are more likely to contribute there this season.

I feel like Billy keeps starters in to make sure our guys accustomed to play hard for a full 40 mins. I think this is the main reason he sticks with the core. Tonight he did get the bench in earlier than usual.

No argument here. I knew Frazier would be good but holy crap, he was extreeeeeeemely underrated.

If Frazier wasn't so far ahead of his classmates, some of them might get some of his minutes. However, Michael has become pretty important so that has cut everyone back, in my opinion.

This is a complaint I've had over the last few games...but don't think it applies today. Donovan put in the freshman to close out the last 2+ minutes of the game and used a lot of rotation (Young sat for like the last 4 minutes).

It's what most (including myself) have wanted to see during the last few blowout wins and it's what happened tonight. Sure, we allowed more points in those couple of minutes than at any other point in the game--but the freshman played competently and scored themselves.

moe's suggestion to rotate 1 freshman in with the starters earlier in the game around the 10 or 12 minute mark (when we were still comfortably ahead) to give them experience is about the only thing you can say could have been done differently (and, in fairness, he has a point)--but not going to complain too much.

Billy did a great job playing the regular subs and spreading the minutes around. I still think with about 8 minutes left and being up 37, he should have started to play Walker, Graham and Ogbueze.

The notion that because someone questions something that Billy does means that they don't "trust" him is ridiculous. I think Billy is one of the 5 best coaches in the country.

I don't think he should play the reserves because they earned time and deserve to play or to be fair to them or to be nice to the other team.

It's great to be "complaining" about all these blowouts where Billy doesn't take the starters out!

Go Gators!

Would you want to come out of the game when you're kicking butt against a hated rival?

WERD...

"We didn't want to slow the game down," Boynton said. "We could have beat them by more."

Normally, I could agree with this post but most of the freshmen (except Frazier) are not yet ready to help out the veterans without committing some type of mistake. Besides the Alabama St game, Florida's schedule has been too tough to sub the frosh. Florida may get another chance to use their freshmen more often in the SE Louisiana game (after playing Arizona)!

When the freshmen were in the FSU game, they were rapidly losing the lead (30 pt lead became 25pt) in the last two minutes. Anyways, the freshmen can get better during the practices when going up against the veteran UF players!

Play the starters now early and often in the season while they still have fresh legs and get used to play at a high level.. Im sure Billy will rotate more players when the it gets to mid and end of season... I trust Billy in what hes doing...
