Pelicans was the name of their minor league baseball franchise, which has huge roots of history in the Crescent City.

New orleans often treated the Pelicans like their own major league team, and it was a shame to see them leave.

I absolutely love the name, nice tribute to a great but little known franchise.

Voodoo is already taken by the Arena Football Team New Orleans Voodoo. I do not know the rules on using the same name though.
