Interpreting body language from one split second is useless.

Exactly that. Could be anything from tiredness, to being slightly overwhelmed by the entire process, and anything else.

I like it that his Dad is with him. Looks like a good Pop and concerned for his young man. A young man from a close family (yes, I am assuming things just from the pictures) with a good mind and head in the right place, can be a good influence on his other teammates.

Anyway, he will probably be relieved when the deal is done on Wednesday, and I hope the deal is all Gator.

It's two days before NSD, why be silent? Seems kind of odd. I don't doubt he's committed, just that it doesn't seem like there's any reason, unless staff doesn't want to push out another WR we have.

But who paid for the hats? Are we expected to believe that a high schooler was able to pay upwards of $15 APIECE for three different hats?

Does Dontre Wilson's commitment to OSU change anything? Seems like he's meant to fill that Percy role, which is what Urban was selling Clark on. I know we have plenty of receivers now, but none of them fill the role that Clark does.

Who would number eight be? I'm guessing we only take six. We've never taken more than that. If we did, some of them would move to defense. Hawkins is an outstanding safety and has the size to possibly play OLB. Bailey could move to corner. Somebody will probably say that's a waste of talent. Got two words for you; Joe Haden.

Are you referring to Ohio State or Oklahoma? I figure Urban's team which has a few WR commits, one being the 6th ranked. But compared to our it could be considered a better class for Clark to get PT since their 2012 WR class was pedestrian at best. I hope we get him for sure.

Does Shurburtt know anything about Florida? I know he's been the go to guy for South Carolina recruits, but he's never really been a player in any other states. He made a bit of a name with guys like Lattimore and Clowney (though how hard was it to call that one for USC?). Just because 247 is desperate to grab guys with any name recognition and prop them up as "national recruiting experts" doesn't make them one.

I'll take AZ's word over JC's on Florida kids any day of the week.

Zach A's quite sure Clark is coming here, but while I like Zach his predictions often seem to get caught up in recent momentum and don't turn out.

I think last year Zach was new and maybe a little overly optimistic. I don't think he had as much credibility with the recruits so he was talking to them directly very often. I suspect that last year, he was going mostly by what he was hearing on other boards.

This year he's been much more connected with the recruits directly and much more careful this year about tempering his optimism. I think he's done a very good job this year.

He's still not going to always be right, but nobody is.

Zach does a great job. Nobody is perfect predicting 18 year old kids, football related or not. Seems like UF's big NSD peak was for EE's (Anzalone and D-Rob). Scanning all the sites, Clark to OSU seems likely. As an observer, I expect 1 of Bostwick/Reed/Bower and 1 to 2 under the radar guys to finish a great class!

NEW SMYRNA BEACH – "Wide receiver James Clark, one of Florida’s most coveted uncommitted prospects going into National Signing Day, made Urban Myer and a legion of Ohio State football fans very happy on Wednesday morning.

Clark, who brought an enticing blend of speed, athleticism and academic success to the recruiting season, saved his decision as a secret – at least publicly -- for a National Signing Day signing ceremony at his high school’s auditorium.

In an announcement made for live television the 5-11, 170-pound slot receiver donned a Buckeyes cap. He chose Ohio state over Florida and Clemson.

“Ohio state provided the best opportunity to be successful on the field and for life after football,” Clark said. “It’s a place I felt happy at.

“It was really hard. Florida is a great school. Ohio State, I felt it was the right place for me. Coach Meyer told me, ‘Don’t come to Ohio State unless I was ready to make grown man moves. That’s what I had to do.”

Clark said he became very close to Meyer during the recruitment process.

“Coach Meyer and I are very close. He’s like a second dad for me.”

Clark has been clocked in the 40-yard dash at 4.38 seconds and at 10.43 for 100 meters on the track."

There was a story the other day about Champ's style - from the recruit's parents - saying they met with Champ and he did not say anything negative about any competing program, but kept it positive and real. The story seemed to be confirmed from multiple sources.

I strongly suspect there is a character difference between the two.

Apparently the report from recruits is that Muschamp doesn't go negative. I like it.

That sounds like something Jerry Sandusky might have said to a kid during recruiting! :)

Urban Meyer definitely knows about "grown man" things like keeping your word, honoring your family, and finishing the things you start.

Notre Dame job will probably be open in the next couple years or so and Urban's always been intrigued about coaching there so if things don't go as he 'd like you'll see him bolt from Ohio State.

In addition to Urban's questionable integrity, I just can't see why a kid from Florida would want to move TO Ohio.

Some of y'all are taking this too damn personal. If I were Clark, I probably would have picked Ohio State, too. All you gotta do is look at the recruiting process. It was pretty obvious he was second thought to Demarcus Robinson. From what I understood of the whole process, he had a lot of interest in us early on, but we somewhat kept him waiting with our focus Demarcus.

Not saying Clark is an attention whore, but from the get-go the guy probably already felt like a second fiddle. Then take into consideration he'd be coming in with 5 other receivers? In comparison to OSU, it looks like they'll have 3 other receivers with him.

Ohio State is probably the safer bet to be a high powered offense in comparison to us, too.

Players at Clark's level are trying to get to the NFL. He's just making a decision that he feels will give him a better chance at getting there. Hating on him for that is pretty damn classless.

This is spot on.

You win some, you lose some in recruiting. Let's try and at least show some class about the guys who choose to go elsewhere...

Easy on the judgements there, hoss.

You think Clark had any reason to feel he was a priority at Ohio State, at least moreso than UF? He didn't get an offer from Urban until after we offered. So tell me again how you came up with that conclusion?

Just calling it as I see it. Am I wrong? Calling this guy a loser when it's a decision that controls his future, not ours? Not a little self-centered and classless?

I never said that Ohio State had him as more of a priority over us. I'm just pointing out why I think he didn't choose us. If we recruited him as hard as we did Demarcus, he probably would be with us. And then there is such thing as a double-standard. This combined with the other factors I listed has him going to Ohio State. If I'm wrong, then oh well, just an observation from keeping track of his situation.

He could have wanted a chance to make plays, what that you've seen on the field so far makes you think UF under Boom would be a good place to do that as a WR? As a RB or a defensive player sure but as a WR or a QB, c'mon.

Glad you're not our recruiting for the Gators. With friends like you, who needs enemies.

I said nothing about the opportunities at either school. I only brought up the fact Urban made Clark less of a priority than UF given the timing of the each school's offer.

Really?! Because so many great WR's have come out of OSU? His QB is a run first QB, not passing so James Clark and co will do what most of theirs did last year..... Block...

The only mild dissapointment from this class but we did actually sign some very good WR's so not a big loss. The kid we flipped from Clemson will be a star. Clark may well sit behind an even better freshman recruit at his position in Ohio. That kid will get the first look. Ohio...hehehe!

Urban will lose a couple games this year despite competing in a piss poor conference. Once he lost his assistants, he proved to be lacking in coaching ability. OSU was one of the weakest undefeated teams I've ever seen this year, even moreso that ND. $5 mil a year and a couple years of recruiting before OSU fans figure it out!

Big 10 is inferior to the SEC. Period.
But then again, so is every other conference in the nation. We confirm our dominance every year in just about every sport.
Our biggest goal should be to win the east division. Then the SEC title.
National titles come as an automatic bonus now.
We all need to be demanding an expansion of the playoff from four to 8 teams ASAP so that at least two SEC teams get into the mix.
