Patric Young is MVG in an impressive 82-49 win over a good Marquette Golden Eagle team. Patric came off the bench with a vengeance collecting 10 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocked shots and 2 turnovers for a Value score of 90. Will Yeguete quietly amassed a Value Score of 67 on the strength of 11 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal and no turnovers. Michael Frazier II's Value Score of 63 was largely due to raining 3-point shots off the bench, leading the team in scoring with 17 points overall along with 2 rebounds and an assist. Casey Prather gave another energy boost off the bench coming in with a Value Score of 59 in only 16 minutes of play. Casey was 4-4 from the field, 2-2 from the stripe and brought a stifling defensive presence including 3 boards, 2 blocked shots and a steal.

The Florida Gators feasted on another team from the state of Wisconsin on the strength of their defense and quality depth. Three of the top four Gator Value Scores came from bench players and the Gator defense held a another talented opponent under 50 points. The Gators get to take the show on the road next week against the FSU to see how their depth and relentless defense matches up with the Seminoles and ACC referees.

I like that statement "Seminoles and ACC referees"

What was Boynton's this game, just out of curiosity?

Boynton didn't get a high Value Score (19) but he did play 34 minutes so he obviously made a major contribution on team defense and ball movement on offense. Box score stats don't give players credit in either of those important areas.

Five assists from Yeguete? Box score has him with none.

At any rate, ten boards, three assists, three blocks, two steals from Young--off the bench? Just crazy productivity. I can count on maybe one hand the number of times he has collected those numbers separately, let alone all in a single game.

Ouch! That is a huge error. Did this a 4:00 am but still . . . recalculating. Patric will obviously be MVG when 25 points are deducted from Will's final score. Thanks!
