Billy just said Murphy has a hip pointer. Anyone know how serious that is?

What was up with Wilbekin late in the game? It seemed maybe it was a cramp?

A hip pointer is a simple injury...its basically a bruise to your hip bone...however because the hip is a major weight bearing bone, it can be painful and take a while to fully heal...he was never on crutches which is a good sign so I can't imagine its too severe....I would expect him to play next week against FSU...thankfully we have almost a week off to rest up...the main thing you do is just ice, rest, and anti-inflammatories really...

And yes Wilbekin was either a hamstring or calf cramp...just from looking at how he was being stretched

I use to leave out my hip padding from my uniform and took a helmet hit to my iliac. I had a hip pointer that lasted about 9 days. It's painful as hell. I could barely stand or sit, I dreaded taking a crap and walked like I had a telephone pole up my butt. I still shake my head when I see guys leaving out that pad.

Nothing simple about a hip pointer. It is an extremely painful injury that requires rehab.

Billy's daughter could play through that.

Best time of the year for an injury that simply needs rest.

Well a laser pointer can blind you...and a hip's like 20 times as big, so a hip pointer's probably pretty bad.

So basically you're saying it could possibly blind a Cyclops giant? Interesting. Thank you, that will come in handy.

I meant its a simple injury in terms of the mechanism...yes it can be painful because its on a weight bearing joint and there isn't much muscular padding there to cushion the blow....what i meant by simple was there are no tears, or other tissue injuries to worry about...its just like getting a bruise anywhere else on your body...you just have to rule out a fracture which im sure they did....
