I think insider access is free thru Friday, so I wanted so share Walter's story with the NBNers. It was fun to write and he is a great kid. His story is really neat.

Hope you enjoy. . .

That's a great article! Very well written and insightful -- I had no idea of Hodge's story until this. Thanks for sharing!

It says a lot, too, about Joakim, that he got in touch with Walter to see if he needed help after the rings-for-sale showed up on ebay.

Very good story.

Great to hear he's doing so well. A family guy too. I saw him on the street his senior year carrying his kid and said "we'll miss you next year Walt". He looked almost shocked to get even that paltry recognition - smiled and said a sincere sounding "thanks".

Yet, when Poland’s basketball MVP called me, the “caller id” read: (352).

Great line :)

Good job aka. Nice to see your writing talents on display here and great to see Walter thriving. His comments about BD speaks volumes about the impact great coaches have on players well after leaving the program.

Thanks, swamp.
Hodge really did speak with a lot of love for the program, last week I interviewed teddy dupay. It was an interesting talk that I will write about next week.

It really was a great article AKA. It's good to see that Walter is OK and is reaping the rewards of hard work.

I really can't say what I think about the lowlife who claimed to be selling his rings on eBay. That kind of language is not allowed.

Agreed! Interestingly, through twitter I found out that Taureen Green faced off against Erving Walker in a game yesterday, Green's team came out on top and it was fun watching them go back and forth about getting together after the game. Once a
Gator, always a Gator!
