Gators will face Air Force in the 2nd game this year for the Orange Bowl Classic Hoops Tourney down in Sunrise Florida. first game is FSU vs Tulsa.

Dec 29th at Bank Atlantic Center.

Who's Goin'?!

Gator clubs in miami, broward, west palm should have some block seating available - i'm not sure if the clubs have set that up or not? i think palm beach has and it helps w/ their scholarship program to order tix thru their website. otherwise, go thru ticketmaster.

The annual MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic will again feature a top-tier doubleheader for the 19th edition of the Classic. Billy Donovan’s Florida Gators, fresh off an Elite Eight run in last season’s NCAA Tournament will face the Air Force Falcons while the defending ACC Champion Florida State Seminoles under head coach Leonard Hamilton will take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane led by first-time head coach Danny Manning.

The 2012 MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic will be held on December 29 at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, FL. Florida State and Tulsa will play in the first game of the doubleheader, followed by Florida and Air Force. Game times will be announced at a later date.

For ticket information please contact the Orange Bowl ticket sales office at (305) 341-4701 or visit www.orangebowl.org.

The Florida Gators will be making their 14th appearance in the Classic and are led by South Florida native Kenny Boynton. The American Heritage (Plantation) prep star led the Gators in scoring last season (15.9 ppg) and was named the MVP of the 2011 MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic as he led the Gators to a 84-64 victory over Texas A&M. Boynton and the Gators finished last season with a 26-11 record that included an Elite Eight appearance.

Air Force finished last season with a 13-16 record and return leading scorers Michael Lyons (15.6 ppg) and Mike Fitzgerald (10.4 ppg). Head Coach Dave Pilipovich enters his first full season as head coach after being named to the position on March 3, 2012. The Falcons, who are making their MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic debut, posted a 10-5 non-conference record last season.

I go every year and will go again this year but, man, Air Force? For a game that has featured K-State and Texas A&M, Air Force is really a let down.

Air Force is 5-0 so far at least with all but one being by at least double-digits. They play Colorado and Wichita State before us so I guess we'll find out if they can put up a fight or not.

Go every year if we are home in town. I find it kind of amusing that the Canes have bailed on this event. Guess they got tired of being out attended by Gators in their back yard.

Anyone know the parking situation? They aren't pre-selling parking passes. Will it be $20 to park? Can you park at Sawgrass and walk across?

At every event that I have ever been to, I've always parked at the mall and walked across the street. Save the $20 for a couple beers!

i've parked at sawgrass in the past, but i'm not sure if they are now enforcing some sort of parking only for mall users.

last time i parked there, we walked into the mall before heading over to the game.

i was thinking it was $10 to park; can't remember.

Parking is 20 bucks per car, ridiculous. Last time I drove up to the parking attendant she asked for 20 bucks I said "20 bucks!"and gave her sarcastic look and she waved me on through, lol, not going to press my luck this time, think I'll park in the mall and walk across.

Question for those who have attended in the past: do the non-Gator/non-Gator opponent fans tend to root against us? I'm wondering to what extent this will be a home crowd.

Since we have the second game most haters will be gone before half.

BTW, we're sitting at Bahama Breeze with a few cold ones getting ready to walk over.

Pretty weak crowd. The lower sections behind the benches were empty. Could be the cost of the tickets/parking/concessions plus a weak opponent. They announced a crowed of 12,000, but I would be surprised if there was half that for our game and there was even less for the FSU game...

Actually, having attended the last. 4, this was a pretty good crowd, especially given a no name opponent and no UM (last year UCF brought a good crowd, there were no Tulsa or AF fans to be found, second game was all UF crowd
