UNF appear to be one of the tastiest cupcakes to visit the O'Dome in some time.
Slow start, but the women are now taking them to the woodshed, 45-18 late in the first half.
Carlie Needles is on fire with 21 points (7 threes) in the first half against UNF's zone.
Bad news though in that Chandler Cooper is out - she is in a boot on the sidelines. Have to hope it is not serious.

Hope it continues to the end of the game. They need a good win to get the bad taste out of their mouths after their last game.

74-44 final. Really lethargic 2nd half, but hardly surprising considering UNF never got within 25 points.
Needles apparently broke the school record with nine 3s, but then was helped off the court with some sort of injury in the final minute. Didn't see what happened (seems like maybe it was just a cramp?), so hopefully she is okay. If she and Cooper are both out we could be in huge trouble.
Next up - NC State on Friday in Vegas.

Well, I think most would have given that designation to Chandler Cooper coming into the season as she came in as a very highly rated shooter, but she was out for tonight's game. Needles is the back-up point guard, but as shown tonight, is clearly more than capable from 3 herself. UNF was playing a very saggy zone to have any chance against us inside, so the 3 balls were all pretty much wide open tonight, but huge credit to Carlie for stepping up and hitting them. As she gets more comfortable running the offense, I suspect we will see the 2 point guard line-up with both Needles & Bonds play more and more minutes as the season progresses.
Confirmed after the game that it was just a calf cramp for Carlie, so she should be fine. Also Chandler was apparently out with a strained left foot arch, which doesn't sound incredibly serious, so possibly she could also be back this weekend? We'll see.

I can live with a 2 PG system only because I don't know if Butler would cut Bond's minutes. Ideally I want to see a lineup of Needles, Cooper, Lewis,, and George starting with the 5th spot to McIntyre if the opposing team has size and Moss if not.
