Nice, but doesn't matter yet...just continue to improve and make the bench longer and stronger. The rest will take care of itself.

I'd rather be moving up in the polls then sliding down... so it does matter, at least to me.

As good as our schedule is, we only play 3 teams currently ranked (5 games). I assume Wisconsin will be ranked by the end of the year. We'll probably have a lot of Top 50 and 100 RPI games though which is good...

Yea but we play Kentucky twice and Missouri twice. Then Arizona to give us 5 games. FSU is starting to come around after their bad start and they might be ranked. I think Alabama could be ranked too. And like you said, I'm sure Wisconsin will too. That's a good team that just ran into us when we were red hot. I also have a feeling Kansas State will end up ranked. Haven't played a tough game yet but they are handling their business.

AP & Coaches Poll

Missouri is 13/14. Looking at their depth and with the addition of Oriaki (sp), transfer from UConn, the tigers may prove to be the best in the SEC this season.

Middle Tennessee gave us a heckuva game for 25 minutes. (G)

#3 in efficiency ratings based on defense, offense and SOS.

#6 offense and #5 defense. We are doing much better at the beginning of this year than last.

I'm still wondering why we have polls at all when the big deal our tournaments?? Rankings mean little to nothing. I personally do not follow the polls. Like clockwork in the SEC it is UF and UK and a flavor of the year to give us chances to go far in the NCAA.

Regardless of where we are now, we will lose games, we will win a lot of games and we will be going back to the tourney.

We have a really good team this year. We may not get to Final 4 or win the Championship (both are possible) but we have a good team that nobody will want to play come tourney time.

Our schedule has not been easy either. Tonight's game will also be tough. S. State has 5 starters back from a 21-12 team.

Thats a good place to be at this point. Interestingly, 7 of the last 8 national champions finished either 1st or 2nd in offensive efficiency. The one year this wasn't the case, the teams that knocked off the 1st and 2nd offensive efficiency teams - went to at least the final four.

I like the way Florida's schedule is set up also. Not many ranked teams, but very few bottom feeders. They are the true RPI killers. Is it possible you guys won't be favored in only 2 games all year (away UK, away Mizzou)? Someone can correct me, I might be wrong about that. In reality, when you're a top 10 team, there isn't a huge difference between playing the 75th ranked team or the 175th. Why schools schedule those lower tier teams is beyond me.

Marquette also could be ranked soon if they keep winning.

Spoke too soon, although Butler isn't a terrible loss, even if they aren't as good as they were a few years ago.

Recruits care about polls whenever they look at them...for this reason alone, It's good to be in the mix...at any given time of year.
