Jalen Hurd is a 2014 committed to Tennessee.
Junior year highlights

LEONARD FOURNETTE number 1 RB in the class of 2014 people say its an Alabama vs LSU battle. But he tried to make it to FNL. I think we will get him on campus and once we do that we have a chance

The next highlights are Adam Choice. He is being recruited by Florida Georgia and GT. His cousin is former RB Tashard Choice. The highlights are from his sophomore year and the clips are sped up.

The forth highlight is Sony Michell it looks like a UGA and Miami battle.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?player_embedded&v=aYvnxEEn68A
D'Ernest Johnson tried to commit earlier this month but was told to wait. He is a good football player but I think Florida might be able to do better.
Sophomore highlights
http://www.youtube.com/watch?player_embedded&v=708R-BQYCZY
Tony James is a speed back from Gainesville who has an offer but not sure if he is a take at this time
http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1671102/highlights/27890373
Myles Autry recently got a Florida offer about a week before he tore his ACL. He goes to North Cross who is turning out high D1 players every year. Myles played on his torn ACL in the state championship game.

Nick Chubb looks like UGA leads
http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1636040/highlights/34038376

Trey Burton role? Only reason there is a Trey Burton role is because the guy can't find a position. I appreciate all he does for the team but lets just recruit a RB that will run downfield, pound it between the tackles and chew up clock.

Originally the thread said he was Trey 3.0. Same role but he would just get the ball more. And would also get the ball at RB. Jalen has the skill set to play multiple positions

If we get Collins this year, we won't be signing three more in 2014. If we want someone as good as Hurd, we might want to promise him the only RB ship. If we don't get Collins and go for as many as three, I hope Jonathan Haden gets a look.
Sounds like we have no chance with Michel.

Added Jalen Hurd's junior year youtube clips it is looking like a nice battle between Ohio State and Florida he loves Urban though Vandyjr will not be happy. He is one of those kids who wants to play early. I think he would play day one at Florida even if we got Collins because he can do so much more than run out of the I.

I'm not sure Hurd would fit Urbans spread offense too well. Besides I'm getting the feeling Urban is about to gain a commitment from Cornelius Elder from Ensworth in Nashville, TN. A 5'6"-5'8" 160lb RB that runs in the 4.4 range and I wonder if he commits if that'll have an impact on Hurd in '14

Jalen would fit extremely well in that offense he can play all over the field. OSU is getting Jalin Marshall Ezekiel Elliott & Corn Elder while Florida is getting Kelvin Taylor , Adam Lane and maybe Alex Collins. I dont think Corn Elder's commit will have that big of an impact on Jalen. Because of his versatility he should be able to get on the field day one on both teams even with the talent both are bringing in.

AL already has Bo Scarborough (coolest name ever) and landed Henry this year, so I would guess that Fournette ends up at LSU.
I like Sony Mitchell & Jalen Hurd and I agree, I see a lot of H-Back/Burton type opportunities for Hurd. Mitchell is the speed back we just don't have. Also suspect that if Taylor passes Mack Brown, he may look for other chances to play. So, adding two in 2014, would really just be keeping it equal to where we will be in 2013, with Burton a SR.

I know some people like to turn threads into Meyer hate fest but its pointless. Meyer is gone but we have to recruit against him. He is going to be one of Florida's biggest competitors for some out of state kids. There are plenty of threads to show your hatred for Meyer please dont mess up a RB recruiting thread.

At some juncture a top 5 RB is going to wake up and recognize the kind of talent Alabama is stock piling year after year at Running Back. I think that this year when guys like Kamara, Tenpenny, Henrey don’t even come off the bench it will be apparent UF with what we are looking to accomplish with our running game is a better choice for top running backs right now. I could see us picking up a guy Like Scarbrough even though he is currently committed to the bammers

He says now he will graduate in December be an early entree and he has always wanted to go to Tennessee. That is bizarre. I would have said I'm delighted with the 6 we have committed already. We are at the same point in terns of numbers as we had at this time last year (I believe we picked up 3 more in early April).
RB is going to have to be strategic though and Hurd I reckon was always a good bet to stay in Tennessee despite their struggles of late. Obviously we'd all like a Sony Michel or whomever to fall into our laps but think about it, we have Jones, Taylor and Lane - 3 high quality backs who are either Sophs or Freshmen. If I'm a top back that might concern me because each one could be a quality back for UF.

Todd Kelly JR is a very gregarious and charismatic guy and is pushing Tennessee's in-state and "legacy" targets to come on board asap and it's paying dividends. I think we could have Dillon Bates, Rashaun Gaulden, Josh Malone and the Berry twins all committed by the spring game. A top 5 class is within reach here. We have not done that in a very long time.

You can get 4 of those guys and nobody on this board would care at all. Please take Gaulden and the Berry twins so we can continue to destroy your secondary.
We do however care about Josh Malone and would like him and Orange and blue. You build a top 5 class by getting elite Linemen and I dont see any of your list.

Seen it... Also seen Johnson in person he's a little undersized but a speed back ill take him as well... I wasn't comparing him to Cook anyways, in general I was saying I want him on this team kids a playmaker and the staff will probably notice way too late like James Clark, swing and miss because others came aboard. When someone's a playmaker, they're a playmaker it's natural.

The staff has seen Johnson multiple times in person. They know exactly who and what he is. There is a 85 scholarship limit you just cant take everybody that wants to be a Gator. We really only need 1 RB in this class.

I heard they want to take two. I say you take a power like Muschamp wants, and get a speed back too. Kid is just shy of 190 ad just over 5'11. It would not be hard to put 10-15 pounds on him. I would just hate to see him go to another competitor and tear it up. And yes trust me I fully understand the 85 scholarship limit, but in the SEC depth is a must especially at RB. But the staff knows what they're doing so ill trust it.
That Cook kid is close to Harvin. Hope he doesn't go to a rival if he doesn't sign with us.

Cook has all the speed we need at RB the kid looks like he has been shot out of a cannon when he breaks through the line.
Johnson is a plan B IMO I said thie when he first tried to commit. I would take 1 RB and 1 FB and call it a day unless a teo great RB's wanted in.

I think Florida can find a better prospect at WR that can be that. If they were going to go with a RB to do that Tony James might be a better option. Adam Choice is another player that you can look at as a ATH but there will be a battle for his services.

Derrell Scott is a stud! And I think why most people would want a speed back for the slot is A. usually their hands are as good as receivers because they get the ball passed to them a lot. B. they usually have more power, and C. because running backs to me tend to have more fluid cuts, and better vision. JMO, but ill take a 4-5 star slot WR or speed RB, I just would push for a speed back.

Travis Rudolph can play outside or in the slot is 6 feet tall and I would take him in the slot any day of the week over guys like Johnson or James

Reminds me of a few track meets at UF back in the eighties where Bo or Herschel destroyed the entire field, outweighing each of them by about 40 pounds. If that wasn't enough, Bo came back a few weeks after the track meet and hit the longest home run I think I ever saw at a UF baseball game. It may have bounced off the top of the O'Dome and gone all the way to University Ave.

I am thrilled we have cook, hope we can hold on to him, and as far as D'ernest and J.C., they have alot of people in their ears in town. We have a new coach as well which is absurd that they let Ackley go. I know D'ernest wants in, and would be in if given the green light. J.C. is basically just taking his time, and is enjoying the process, I saw him the other day and told him myself that if he sleeps at the wheel to long that his spot will get filled by someone else. It was a little of both, the people in this community can be over barring when it comes to the football team, and we have way to many Saturday morning quarterbacks, and most have never played a snap. I think J.C. would absolutely make a stud wr, but I think they will make him a DB for the gators, and I think he also realizes that he could have a better career as a shut down DB than a wr.

Of course I'm glad they got him. I still want one or the other though. I mean who knows how solid any of the Miami players even are. I would love to have Johnson first after Cook, and then James if Florida can't get Johnson. I really don't see another power back coming here, if one does choose to that would be quite surprising to me. Might as well take what is the 2nd best options instead of waiting till the end and missing out.
Right Ohio St started AFTER Florida, which Florida took too long in the first place, if I was the kid I would of felt unwanted, he declared his love for the home team multiple of times, but Florida kept off the pedal for a long time, so I don't really blame him for choosing elsewhere, I just hate losing SUPERIOR in state talent to a crap ass team like OSU, especially when your the favorite all along.

1. If we would have took Johnson and James like you wanted where is the room for Cook?
2. Dont you think that staff knows what it is doing when it comes to RB's? It is way way way too early to take plan B's.
3. Johnson is a solid player but do you really see him getting on the field? Why take player that are going to ride the bench this early in the recruiting cycle?
On the Clark thing he didn't prove he could play until his senior season. If his Jr tape looked like his Sr tape I think you might have a point but it didnt. Urban out recruited Muschamp and he Clark also didnt want to go to a school with a huge WR class. I dont know if Florida was the favorite for Clark all along.
If anything the Clark situation taught the staff to wait. If we had not filled at WR so early we would have had a better shot at Clark.
Imagine if when the staff saw Clark's Sr tape we had a few less WR commits and we could offer him right away.

Before his senior year, Clark's top teams were Northwestern, Duke and some other braniac school, maybe Stanford. He wasn't on UF's or OSU's radar. When he blew up his senior year, he had a whole new set of suitors. OSU looked good because I think they only signed one or two other WRs. UF's only chance would have been if we'd noticed him sooner, or snagged fewer WRs. It probably chafed a little that the home state school ignored him for so long.

3. Johnson I see playing right away if the coaches want. He's not that small, he has a thicker build, and you can utilize a smaller speed type back in the slot.
4. Your right maybe our WR class was a little too full, and I love our 2013 class. That being said Clark said that being a 5th WR in the class would not deter him. Unfortunately Meyer beat out Muschamp for a player in the backyard, it sucks because the kid is a stud, will be a stud, and ultimately will give opposing defenses problems.

Well we can take away 1 receiver it seems, or even an offensive linemen.
I have seen the two play live, haven't seen Cook, and judging by tape your right Cook is superior but Johnson is not far off.

cmon we are not taking away an Olinmen away for D johnson. We still need playmaking WR's.
To your 2nd point maybe that is what they are doing with D Johnson they learned their lesson.:whoa:

I still don't know why we don't oversign like Bama and then have the players compete in the spring to make the team....seems to have worked well for them.
Bama over-signs because there are still elite prospects willing to commit to them when they're full. If UF had over-signed this past cycle, we'd have been taking Plan B, if not Plan B- types. We are not in the same market position Bama is in. Yet.

Not to mention that it's morally wrong to do that to an 18-year old kid.

RB Adam Choice commits to Clemson. Clemson recovered well from us stealing Cook with Choice and C.J. Fuller.
Losing Cook still has to sting because even though Choice is a good player he has nothing on Cook.

So what you're saying is, he wasn't their first... Choice?

What position are you going to take away from since you want 3RB's this cycle? Remember we also need a FB this cycle. Dont you think 2 RB's already in this class will deter the 3rd RB?
You have seen the two play live or on tape you know Johnson is not in Cooks league
4 What should they have learned besides dont offer borderline kids ?
You offer Gerald Owens as a RB. Let the #3 guy think Owens is a fullback. Let Owens start out as a running back. Truth is, we probably won't sign another running back as highly ranked or as talented as Owens. Give Owens a chance to earn a spot as a one back RB and a fullback/H-back. Try and stop him from being a feature back in a power running offense that can run two tight ends or three WRs on every play.

I think he plans to camp at UF and also visit FSU the same week. It looks like this will be a pattern now that UF and FSU are recruiting a lot of the same players.
Last years camping season was boring because we had a lot of commits already this season I expect some big time football players to be at camp.

I like early commits as much as the next guy, but seeing them in camp before you let them make public commitments is smart. I'd rather get a late start but get kids that fit the program.

we offered Bo Scarbrough teammate C'yontai Lewis as a TE maybe this idea he will flip continues to have more and more legs. It is still hard to see a Tuscaloosa kid turning down Bama

Lol maybe people will start to believe me about Bo eventually, I'm telling u there's a very good chance we get him to flip. Rumor has it cyontai committed to UF not sure of the details

If we could pull Bo and hold onto Cook, in a couple of years we'd have a backfield that rivals Bama's.

Some of that is luck, plus Bama has more RBs than they can get on the field. All you need is one game durable game breaker that you can ride for three years and a stable of versatile backups. For all we know, Jones and Taylor could turn out to be better than any RB Bama has. They are certainly more similar to Bama backs size-wise than UF RBs have been in a while. Cook just needs to be good as advertised. Production at RB will depend more on catching up with Bama's OL recruiting. We're just about there with our transfers.
Hate to sound like a broken record, but I still like Owens.

I think the fullback sot will come down to Gerald Owens Cortavious Givens or Jacob Kraut each one of them will camp at UF.
