Looking good. I knew we were doing a very good job on the boards last night, but I didn't realize how good until I saw the stat this morning. We out-rebounded a BIG team by 19. This is after out-rebounding a small, quick team by 20. And we were up by 2 at the half against a big Georgetown team.
A lot of it has to do with shooting percentages, but we seemed to be getting a good share of the offensive rebounds too. Me like.

And this is playing without Prather, who is a good rebounder.
Admittedly, Frazier is apparently a very good rebounder.

If last night was any indication, I bet Bo wonders how we got most of the rebounds. Will Y. was getting hammered every time he pulled down a rebound, but he usually pull through with it. I hope he stays healthy, Dennis Rodman clone in rebounding. Murphy looks like he has improved strength wise and was moving around a lot even though he is not that fast. These two guys with Patrick, if healthy, will give a lot of teams fits. Jay Bilas gave Murphy and Donavon a lot of love. Loved it. I think Frazier the freshmen, rebounded a few and shot when he was open unlike last game and his percentage improved. The freshmen played a good number of minutes and except for Walker they looked physical. When we get back Prather and Wilbekin, we will have good depth. This team can still improve and if we stay healthy, we could be a factor in March. Nothing better than playing in the East Regional Final, playing perhaps Duke, then outrebounding them and running away to the final four. My shot at how rebounding can take us to the promised land. IMO rebounds are a very important thing to get, but also as a stat they are mainly indicative of the team that is shooting well vs the team that isn't. Defensive rebounds are much more common than offensive rebounds, so the team that makes more shots gives up fewer rebounds and vice versa.
With that said, our rebounding looks good compared to last year because of two guys last year that did not rebound like someone their size should (Yound & Murphy) have done a much better job this year.

Yeah, I think we're going to love Frazier. He can play great d, rebound well and is a lethal shooter. But somebody should tell announcers they don't have to say "Frazier the second" every time he does something.

His mom said that's how the family wants him to be referred to. Frazier II. No lie.

I think the +19 margin was the stat of the game.

Didn't check the numbers but it seemed like Boynton had a few more rebounds than usual.

When one team is making most of its shots, and the other team is missing most of its shots, the team that is making most of its shots is going to get a lot more rebounds than the other team.

when you shoot like we shot it, particularly in the first half, it is tough for the opponent to rebound
