What's TFA, and is Orlando Dauda a basketball player? A Google search on him turns up nothing.

Because that put the writing on the wall for UF!

That's not completely true. I did a google search and found this thread. Google also suggested Orlando Audi.

There is some thought he "might" show up for The badger game, but I'll believe it when(if) it happens

I think "TFA Orlando" is a school.

I think we have a very good shot at getting Johnson, who is further along in his development than Embid.

Did we lose Embiid because we held back offer while waitiing for Randle or Parker? Anyone know?

Embiid and his advisor have apparently chosen another place for him. If so, Embiid was right not to come to the UF game on UF's unofficial dime.

As for losing him, UF offered so I am not sure what else UF could have done.

No way. Embid had a committable offer and there's definitely room for more than three players in this class. I don't think we'll get Parker, but with all the talent in the '13 class, I don't think the coaches will stop recruiting until they run out of prospects or get five commitments. I believe we'll make a good run at Johnson and possibly a SF or SG.

So now he has pushed back his announcement until Wed. Don't think it changes much. I would love to hear why his advisor prefers Kansas.

They are definitely not considering academics...a girl I went to school with got into KU with a 6 on the ACT.

Guys, Kansas is one of the Top 5 traditional basketball programs in America. I don't have much knowledge of this kid's recruitment, but I am assuming he is fairly new to the state/area, and not a lifelong Gainesville resident. There should be nothing remotely strange or "sketchy" about him choosing to play B-Ball at Kansas (barring some insider info I am not privy to). Let's not be petty like some are with football recruiting, not fathoming how a kid doesn't want to be a Gator.

I wasn't referring to it being sketchy that he didn't pick UF...

A really dumb decision by this kid. We have enough of a sample size of Self to realize that he does not have a good track record developing highly ranked bigs. Where as Billy has a good track record of improving bigs for the Nba.

If you even look at nba success it's a no brainier. I guess this is just another example of
A kid makin a poor decision that will greatly impact the rest of his life. It's sad and I feel for this kid because it seems he trusted te wrong people due to his naive understanding of college hoops.

You have to love the comment from a supposed "Gator fan" lol

Good choice for the big guy. Billy does not use big men properly and it would be a waist of talent to have him play for the Gators. I know a lot of you are going to be mad at me for saying it but you know it's true. That's why we hardly ever get elite big men.

Why did she even tell people what her score was? Good thing she wasn't an athlete.

FWIW, the president of our local Gator club grew up in Lawrence, attended KU for a year, then transferred to UF because of academics.

Apparently he isn't able to catch the NBA draft out in California to see the numerous UF big men that have been 1st round draft picks over the past few years, lol.

But I guess that doesn't compare to Bill Self's record of putting bigs in the NBA . . . oh wait
