Kenny Boynton's excellent overall guard play led the Gators in a 84-35 anihilation of overmatched Alabama State. Boynton shot 8 of 10 and made all four of his 3-point tries. Overall, Kenny had a balanced stat sheet including 22 points, 5 assists, 6 rebounds and no turnovers giving him a team high and monster value score of 114.
Joining Kenny as boxscore leaders were Gator big men Erik Murphy and Patric Young with value scores of 79 and 77. Murphy's statline included 15 points, 3 boards, 3 assists, 1 blocked shot, 2 steals and no turnovers. Young recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds with 3 assists and 2 steals but his otherwise outstanding effort was set back with 4 turnovers.
Not recorded in the stat sheet was a suffocating defense that held the hapless Hornets to 9 points in the first half. That was the lowest halftime score allowed by the Gators since the implementation of the shot clock.
