I think it is fair to say that if Yeguette was available to play against Louisville we would've made the final 4. He really does the dirty work..plays good D, gets on the floor, rebounds hard, and may have improved his offense this year.

I agree. I said it in a column I wrote prior to the season... the loss of Will was underestimated.

His offensive game really seems to be coming along as well. Becoming a very well rounded player that is very athletic, but still a lunch pail type of guy. Keeps quiet, no showboating, brings it every game, very active on defense... the kind of guy that is probably a favorite of many gator fans, this one included. Just what you like to see out of an underrated guy coming at of high school, now in his 3rd year. We should get a lot of good minutes out of him this year and next. Billy found a good one in Will.

Agreed...although we still should have made it without him...
My favorite player on the team

That drive with the left hand against G'Town was awesome. Got me even more excited about Will this year...

I hope Devon Walker can develop quickly. If so he will allow us to spread the floor at the three and preserve Young and Murphy for stretches with Yeguette, Walker and Prather as the front line. We'll be very small but extremely athletic.
I like this athletic line up Yeguette, Prather, Walker, Frazier and Boynton or Wilberkin.

Although Young was the highlight of the class, I really think that Yeguete, Prather and Wilbekin are going to be very important contributors to the team this year, assuming that either Wilbekin or Prather ever get to play.
Yeguete has always been a favorite of mine. I did like Billy D's rational for signing him: "When I asked high school coaches what opposing player gave them the most trouble, they all said "Yeguete."
Lunch pail - a very good way to describe an outstanding basketball player.

I remember when I stated talking about Will on this board during his senior year of high school at Walter Hodge's former school, Florida Air Academy (only his second year in the US at this point), and that he would be a member of that Gator class. Franz was very much in disagreement with that, but nevertheless, Will showed up on the national recruiting radar shortly thereafter. St. Johns was heavily in play for him at the time.
The big event that showed up as a blip on the recruiting radar his senior year of high school was a three game stretch where he grabbed 60 rebounds. Knowing Billy's philosphy on hard work and hustle, this kid was going to get the full court press once Billy became aware of him.
