Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said Wednesday that he spoke to center Joakim Noah about his decision to shoot a 3-pointer against the Orlando Magic just to try to win Big Macs for fans at the United Center.

The Bulls have a promotion through which fans can get a free Big Mac if the Bulls score 100 points in a home win. The Bulls won 99-93 as Noah missed his 3 with 3.8 seconds left...

"I regret it a little bit," Noah said. "It wasn't a good shot.

"You have to respect the game because you never know what can happen in a game. I just got caught up in the moment and I was trying to get the people a Big Mac. They really wanted a Big Mac (judging by how loud the crowd was getting) and I felt like, not only did I take the shot and miss the shot, we didn't even get the Big Mac. Next time, I won't take that 3-pointer."

I don't know what Thibs is complaining about. Joakim was a 50 percent three-point shooter in college.

Spoiled fans. They should all have to buy Jo a Big Mac between now and the end of the season.

This reminds me of the UF games I attended when scoring 90 would get the student a free 6-inch Subway sandwich. Whenever Jack Berry came into the game, we knew it was over and a sandwich was near when chants of "SUBWAY JACK!" echoed throughout the O'Dome.

I don't see anything wrong with Jo putting up the shot.

God forbid the players/team do something for the fans. Respecting the game, give me a break. First off, it's just that, a game, second of all if this really hurt the Magic's feelings then play defense and stop it.

Haha, this was my thought exactly. Noah and the Gators were just well-trained at UF by the "Eat Fresh" chants when we wanted 90 points to get free Subway.

I understand Thibodeau's point. It is sort of bad form to launch for the winner meaningless three pointer at the end of a game that has already been decided. Most assume the opponent will just dribble the ball out. I don't think anyone had a problem with Noah's desire to take a shot for the fans so much as taking an unnecessary three pointer that could look like grandstanding.

Hahah this is awesome. Love Jo! And I too remember Subway Jack. He nearly put Subway out of business with all the times he got us free 6" subs. Subway pulled the promotion after awhile. I remember going with my friends with our student wrist bands from Subway to Subway collecting 6" subs for the week!
