Shortly after returning from a concussion, Florida F Casey Prather suffered another one in practice Monday.
Because of that, Prather is doubtful for Friday’s season opener vs. Georgetown aboard the USS Bataan, a multipurpose amphibious assault ship in Mayport (9 p.m., NBC Sports Network). His latest concussion occurred when C Patric Young accidentally elbowed him on a rebound in practice, which Young described as “just a normal play.”

Well, that hurts, but it does mean we can expect some of the freshmen to pick up additional minutes. Should be good exposure for them.

Not good...we are down two front court players now with Larson gone. Who knows how long these concussions will go for...if he ever comes back. We are very thin in depth now.

Geez Muschamp's practices must be brutal. Wait, what? Oh this is basketball.
How does one get two concussions in such a short period of time playing hoops? This stinks.

That was my first thought. I can't see this having much of an impact in the Georgetown game, but you don't want to see guys getting concussion after concussion.

Elbows to the head hurt.
Well, this means that Wilbekin and Prather are both out for the Georgetown game.
The freshmen are going to have to step up, without a doubt, that is also, the only backup power forward gone.

Can someone tell Patrick Young to tone it down a little in practice? lol Didn't he hurt other players last season in practice.

I don't remember him taking out opposing teams player last year. What gives Patrick? Stop taking it out on your own guys, lay out a nole or wildcat this season!

Two concussions close together are only dangerous if you haven't fully recovered from the first. So-called "second concussion sydrome" can easily be fatal and is something schools like Florida have to be very careful with - and I'm sure they were. So, I'm just going to chalk this up to bad luck and cheer for Casey to get better soon.
