If its his OV then I hope to hell we feed him all the ribs, steak, BBQ the boy wants. Nothing easier than swaying a big kid like him than with his stomach.

Great news, we are bringing in a power house of a line it we get him. Hopefully we show up and man handle those Cocks like dem Tigers did, its what he likes to see. Go Gators.

P.S. Driskel please throw the ball down the field a little, just once maybe twice, so Clowney and that front seven don't load up the box. Please......

we will just have to wait and see I would think they would want to take another tackle. Deneson still doesnt have an offer yet.

maybe this was why they never offered Denson they felt so good about flipping Dawson

I think the staff has been pretty confident they would eventually get Dawson to visit. Also Denson didnt have great film last year and the coaches were not going to give a kid an offer off some camp workouts. From all indication he has played better this year still dont know how high the coaches are on him. Like any Gator fan part of me wants to flip him just to see FSU Oline class to crumble.

what a difference a couple months makes now that the staff can be picky and choose who they want to finish our O-line class. Who would you choose between Brown or Denson?

I dont think we need another Olinemen in the class tbh. I was worried about the tackle position but after getting Moore thats no longer a major problem. Brown is a JUCO tackle with better experience while Denson is a guard that is going to need some developling. I would continue to pursue Rod Johnson and Tunsil and if they choose to go elsewhere and we have room flip Denson late.

I don't know, I would take Brown over Johnson... And Tunsil over Brown. No Tunsil (like I expect), then I take Brown. I know Johnson can play OG or OT, but I wasn't impressed in the HS game on ESPN U where he was blocking for Bryant

Oh and if we get Dawson and another OT, we need a playmaker over Denson IMO either a WR or Collins

I'm talking Robinson, Coley, North (unlikely), or a JuCO stud that an play right away

read he has played better in other games its a developmental position coaches like is upside. I take Johnson over Brown because of years of eligibility left.

That's the only thing that concerns me about all these transfers. We will beef up immediately, but we aren't stocking up for the future. We went two years in a row only signing two OL.

Moore has 3 yrs of eligibility left, he's a tweener. And he is proven.

Garcia will be a great replacement for Wilson for the next two years, and again he is proven.

We have Dunker behind Halapio, so I'm happy with that.

Thrilled with Humphries so far this year. Koehne and Silberman have been solid...

Nothing to complain about our o line in the future for the next 3 yrs IMO.

With Dawson or Denson coming, Dillard as a solid center prospect/prohect and one more OT, Johnson or Brown possibly even Tunsil, we're in good shape...

Trenton Brown, imho. We already talked him out of his Georgia commit, no reason to stop now. And though I normally don't like taking JUCO's, it's nice to have him come in and fill a gap right away. I mean, that's the only reason we should take a JUCO anyways. Him being here for only two years is another bonus for future OT commits... Really, his commit to us would be a good thing on all fronts.

I have heard that he now has decided to stay closer to home and Fla is not being considered, however I do not know if this is true !! Anyone else heard anything concerning his change of heart, I thought it was a matter of time before he committed to Fla.

Dawson's quote after his visit here:

"I rushed myself into a bad situation at Michigan earlier this year by not weighing my options, so I didn't want to make the same mistake," he said. "I want to look at a few other schools close to home, and that might play a factor in the long run. That's mainly because of all the things my family has been through in the last year, so I feel that maybe I should try to stay close to my support system."

Apples and oranges. T Brown is being recruited as a tackle. Denson is being recruited as a guard. As far as who the staff wants more at this point, the answer is T Brown. The staff I don't think is overly impressed with Denson, hence why he does not have an offer yet.

Maybe things will change since Dawson is no longer considering us, but I wouldn't bet on it.

 Such limited spots left, we have to pick and choose a bit. If there are spots and Denson is best available at any position, I think we take him. But with so many more positions of need and better athletes that we are targeting (not with our helmets) at other positions (Harris, Anzalone, Daniel, Gilmore, Adams, Ramsey, Wiggins, Ogundeko, Brown, North, Robinson, JUCO DT, possible JUCO WR (no targets that I am aware of here, but just throwing it out there, Denson), and likely 5 or less spots, we take the best athlete at the position available and I think Denson falls way down that list.

Niugator
10-29-2012, 04:03 PM
I was under the impression we were looking at taking one more lineman( not counting tunsil due to his elite status and holding onto any hope all the way till nsd) but if thats the case, that does make sense to pick and choose best avail instead of forcing the issue wit taking a player due to position.

I am kinda surprised about the Dawson comments... but hey, can't win them all... And he hasn't said he was NOT coming to the December Team BBQ... So I think there's still hope.

But we have a solid back-up option in Denson. In the coming weeks, if you see Denson making a visit here, he's being recruited by our coaches... and he will flip when he gets his offer, which now might be a matter of time.

But hey! In recruiting OG's... we have, in my opinion, 2 of the top 5 OG's in the country giving us a look (Dawson and Denson)... either would be welcomed.

And if Denson were to flip, soon, I would think we would still be recruiting Dawson... It's not over till it's over... We hit a road-bump with our loss, but we are still a very good team who will continue to go out and get TOP talent.

IMHO, we shouldn't be too concerned with OG's at the moment, what will be will be, I'm pretty sure I'd be happy with any outcome... well, anything short of not pulling in any.
