Is one or the other RB commit in trouble with grades? Shaky in their commitment? Is Brown leaving for the NFL?

because he is an elite football player

Fine with me but there must be more to it. Nonetheless, if we take three he looks like a powerful "downhill" guy.

Some extra depth behind Taylor and Lane

What are the common threads between the most successful SEC rosters for the past 3 years or so?
1) A stable of elite running backs (Bama and LSU generally have about 6 quality RBs on the roster at one time)
2) A stable of great linebackers (ideally 2 deep across the board)
3) Cherry picked DB talent.
I've been probably the lone proponent of a 3rd RB in this class (assuming we can get a 3rd-down/"speed" back). You can never have too many good ones.

I see no problem with this as we are know more of a power running team so the need is there for a stable or RB's and he's got descent size. He is currently committed to Miami FWIW.

nothing more to it Florida wanted Ryan Green in this class. They have always thought about taking 3 RB's if the 3rd guy was worth it. I dont think we get Collins but if we do I would not be shocked if he was the most talented back on the team next year.

Think I read somewhere that he has very good hands and might not be projected at RB at all.

why isnt greg bryant in the mix if were looking for a 3rd rb. not only is he an elite back but also plays on the same team as rod johnson the huge OL who was previously committed to UF
He's got elite speed and moves. Runs with good power too.

I realize RBs want to be "the man" but it means a lot to be able to showcase their potential without being overused in college or risking injury. They will still make the NFL with 12 carries for x ypc vs 25 for same ypc. The difference could be they will be able to last longer make more $$$. I wish the staff success here.

Like AS said earlier he doesn't want to be in the same class as two other top-notch backs

Collins just looks like an SEC back.

He could also help the girls lacrosse team in practice. This is two years in a row Florida is late to go after a Miami commit last year it was Duke Johnson

he is taking an official to FSU this weekend. Hopefully he will take an official to the Florida vsSouth Carolina game instead of going to the FSU vs Miami game.

Have we been recruiting his all along or is this something we just started? Yeah, tend to agree if we are just getting in on this guy. However, I would think that though we have two RBs in the class he still sees himself to be above Lane.

He's committed to Miami not saying we don't have a good chance to flip him with their woes. I'm not sure how long he's been on our radar and how hard we pursued him

Cane committed?
What he said he isn’t seriously considering doing — not yet, anyway — is dropping the Hurricanes.
Even though he has been seen wearing FSU T-shirts around school and said he enjoyed his trip to Wisconsin, Collins said he remains committed to coach Al Golden and will wait to see how hard the school gets hit when NCAA sanctions are finally levied in the coming months.
“I don’t know how hard the NCAA will hit Miami or if it will be a soft touch,” Collins said. “But when I think about it, I really don’t want to be affected by something that happened before. I feel people that didn’t have anything to do with that situation should not pay the price for people who did. That’s why I’m waiting to see what happens before I make any final decisions.”

"Collins is no longer unknown but he’ certainly wanted. Despite committing to Miami in January he’s still listening to other coaches from other programs. He was always up front with the ‘Canes staff from the very beginning.
“When he committed to them he told other coaches to still recruit him,” Gatewood said. “He had only played the one season and didn’t know what was out there. He visited Miami and basically committed on the spot. But he still wanted to be recruited.”
Collins says he loves the Hurricanes but he just wants a chance to see what the college football world is like outside of Broward County.
“That Miami visit was my first ever to see a school,” Collins said. “It was wonderful and I love Miami. I love those coaches and players. But at the same time I have never really been out of Broward. I also want to know what else is out there.”
This weekend Collins will be in for a big change. He’s headed to Madison for an official visit to Wisconsin. The following weekend he’s headed to Tallahassee to make an official visit to Florida State.
“Those are the two visits I have set up so far,” Collins said. “I have been to Miami a bunch but I may make my official visit when they play FSU in a few weeks. I haven’t decided yet. I have been talking with Florida a lot lately. I talk with coach [Brian] White. UCF and South Florida are also showing me a lot of interest. It’s pretty much those schools.
“Right now I am just taking things day by day.”
