“Mike had a hip pointer and was out for 10 days,” Donovan said. “I mean ... that is just mind-boggling. Ten days for a hip pointer? My daughter could work through that.”

I'm sure Billy has said much worse to him in private and it's a motivational thing, but somewhat harsh thing to say to the public. Gotta love the get tough mentality though.

Sounds like no practice, no play. Where is Allen Iverson when ya need him.
Seriously tho, not critiquing the coach, but Im not a big fan of calling out players in the media even if it is a motivational thing.

It was sort of surprising to see him go on about that in the presser yesterday, with little prompting, but he didn't do it in a mean-spirited way and he also praised Rosario as a great teammate with a great attitude. Watch the clip and it comes off both humorous and honest.

Yeah, when I read it, I was pretty sure it was delivered with humor, not trashing Mike. Not a big deal. He's frequently skewered top players.

As usual Brockway totally missed the tone and delivery that Donovan used in criticising Rosario. If you view the entire 22 minute presser you will see what I mean. Does Brockway ever get anything right?
