ESPN 300 wide receiver commitment Tony Stevens (Orlando, Fla./Evans) said he has decommitted from Florida State late Wednesday night.
The 6-foot-4, 184-pound prospect had been committed to the Seminoles since February 25 before making an announcement on his personal Twitter account.
"I'm decommitting from Florida State," he said.
The Seminoles, it seems, aren't even in his top five any longer.
Stevens later said that Ohio State, Georgia, Louisville, USF and USC are his top schools. He did indicate in August that he was likely going to take other official visits.
"I'm going to take all of my visits because it's my senior year," Stevens said earlier. "I know I'm going to visit Ohio State, FSU, Louisville, South Carolina and USF ... but I'm still solid to Florida State."
That's obviously not the case now.
ESPN ranks Stevens as the No. 22 receiver in the class of 2013 and is the No. 35 player in Florida.

He has a really nice highlight reel. My favorite of any WR this cycle. He makes some spectacular catches.... The kind that wins the game in OT. Really hate to see Georgia and Ohio State on his OV list. If Urban gets Stevens, it won't be the last time you hear the name... Thats the type of system he would thrive in.
Their TE, Christian Morgan, decommitted as well.

No. This has nothing to do with him whatsoever... other than the fact that he coaches at Ohio St and Stevens listed Ohio State as an OV. Nice reach tho! :nervous smile:
The Noles guys are saying that Stevens was getting better offers so he decided to decommit, pretty cut and dry. His recruitment has picked up and FSU seems to not have kept up with it.
The TE wants to play closer to home.
But from other things that their recruits have posted, it seems that once these kids are on board, the conversations start to slow down. I bet it's not like that with their TOP END talent. But some of their guys are getting calls weekly from other coaches... you gotta be able to defend what you got.

Better offers? All you are allowed to get is a full scholarship? What did they mean by better offers?

Louisville and USF not better offers than fsu. Is the USC in his latest tweet Southern Cal or South Carolina?

I believe it to be South Carolina. He listed them as one of his OV's before he decommitted from FSUcks. I am not 100% tho, but I haven't seen anything about Cali.

Ya. I watched this guys highlights, got really pumped up on him, and then he committed to them that night. Was hoping he would get some attention from us and vice-versa, but it never came to be. I believe he has family somewhere around Gville as well.

We have our four WRs and I guess that's that huh? Here's hoping he doesn't go to Ohio State or any of our rivals, but whatever.

Ya. The guys at the top of our list are better in terms of what we need... i.e. Marquez North. Plus I don't think we were ever in contact with him.
At this time, I hate to say it, but I rather see him go to Ohio St. than Georgia or South Carolina. USF would be nice, doubtful tho. Louisville might turn out to be a big player.... I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was Charlie Strong that was pushing. Honestly tho, would love to see him go to Louisville, think he would fit there nicely.

I doubt if it matters, both USC's are better than FSWho.
