Has anyone had a problem with GC loading up? For the last month or so it takes several tries to log on. I get a bunch of red x's on the main page, and when I go to the forums internet explorer won't pull it up. It is strange because TOS loads right up...

No problems for me ever. I ditched IE a long time ago and couldn't be happier.

This issue is happening because Ray is working on that back end doing stuff. The issue should be fixed very soon

Saw this post and thought I would jump in quickly and second this motion. Thirty minutes later the page loaded and I am post #9. I may try Firefox and also switch from using this dial up modem.

I'm sorry, but did you say dial-up? Not to be mean but you've lost all right to complain.

I'm not sure what's wrong, it loads quickly for me on my limited bandwidth... Is it our ads or something? Look at your status bar below (usually) when waiting on something to load and let me know what it says, i.e is it waiting on contextweb?

Mine says waiting on tag.contextweb
Don't know if that is different or not.
I am using Firefox.
The site has been horrible!!! in all forums!

sometimes it takes me 4 or 5 times to fully load. It loads the ads but not the content. Frustrating.
Never had a problem with it ever on Firefox or the mobile app
Not a good day for humor I guess.
I laughed pretty hard.
At the reply, too. :)

Firefox working fine for me. I understand that does not help for others not running it. But I switched to Firefox several years ago on advice from some GC posters and am thankful to each that recommended it.

It took me 35 minutes from logon (with 20 odd refreshes) to get to this thread and an additional 8 minutes to get to page 2 of the thread. There is another thread on this in the "Aid" forum.
This same exact thing happened awhile ago (2 or 3 months; not sure).
This needs to be fixed.

Works fine for me on Firefox, on Chrome it says waiting for tag.contextweb.com. Installed Adblock Plus on Chrome and its fine now.

It's this ridiculous tag.contextweb.com. Very frustrating. Bumped in here from my phone just to make this post...and now I'm out.

Been having the problems off and on for a couple of days.
Trying to get here tonight has been a nightmare. It took a long time 30+ minutes to finally access the site.
I've had the problem several times lately, just not for 30+ minutes.
Please see if you can find out wtf is going on.
I don't do well without my Gator Country fix...

Been having this problem for several days. Hitting refresh multiple times for each page to load.

I've reported it to the Contextweb people so we're just waiting on them to fix it. Meantime I've removed the offending code until it's resolved...
Apologies,
Ray

Earlier today I was also having issues with the tag.context host. They were having a DNS lookup problem so I routed there lookups to local host and it fixes the speed issues.

seems like it has been happening for quite a while for me. multiple refreshes to get a page to load. very frustrating and discouraging when you have ads causing these kinds of problems when you are paying for a premium service

Install Adblock and it will never happen again. Also all other sites will get faster, too.

When this thread was going a week or two ago I installed ad block. I don't know why I didn't do it a long time ago. If you don't have it, get it!
