Jimbo says he still has a scholly. Good luck to the young man in his future. Life is not being fair to him today, having to give up something he loves at his age must be tough.

"Richy was very emotional and he told the team what it honor it was to be a leader on the team and he cried his way through the whole thing while he explained he can't play football anymore," Panthers head coach Robert Weiner said.

One of Plant's senior captains, Klepal suffered a concussion two weeks ago during a practice as the Panthers prepared for their game against John Curtis Christian in New Orleans. He did not play in that game and hasn't played since.

"It wasn't a matter of the number of concussions he's had," Weiner said. "It was a hemorrhage in his brain, that he is clear and out of the woods now, but that could be a life or death situation if he gets hit there again."

Klepal did receive some good news while delivering the bad news to FSU coach Jimbo Fisher.

"Jimbo told Richy that he 100% still has a scholarship to FSU," Weiner said. "That was a such a bright spot on what has been a roller coaster ride of a day."

Kudos to Fisher on this. Feel really bad for this kid having to give up his dreams to play football but life is more important.

I must say I am impressed that Jimbo is going to give the kid a scholarship. Very classy move.

Holy cow, Dumbo is doing the right thing. It's obvious he's not cut out for the SEC and the Sabanator.

Nice to see Fisher keep the kid's scholarship, I find it impossible to believe the case would have been the same had he been a recruit of an a-hole like
Lane Kiffin, or Nick Saban.
Also, does anyone else know if the Plant head coach has some kind of anti-gator bias?
With all of the studs that program has produced in the past five to six years and for UF to not land a single one reeks of something like that.
