Embid looks to be a long shot for this class, but UF appears to be looking good for his teammate Dakari Johnson. Looks like we were the first to offer (according to 247) and Johnson is scheduled for an unofficial visit Sept. 21st. Billy is recruiting him directly.

Jahlil Okafor from Chicago's Whitney Young is an intriguing prospect. At 6'11", 270, he seems big for Billy's system, but he was offered back in April and appears to have us up there with Zona, Duke, Louisville and Mich State. He's the #1 center in the '14 class and #6 overall. Pelphrey is on him.

Travon Reed, 7'1" 200 from Snellville, GA is the #3 center and #15 overall. Looks like we might lead. Matt McCall is recruiting Reed.

This is just from the free boards on 247. Does anyone know any more about these guys or UF's interest? Seems interesting to me that we're focusing on that many big name centers in this class.

Embid and Johnson are both '13, while Okafor and Reed are both '14, right?

Thanks for the info and I'd be happy for any of these players.

Based on those 3 cute pictures those guys look too young to recruit. :joecool:

Can't be much fun for a high school team to have to face Embid and Johnson on the same team. Those two already have NBA ready bodies.

I like Okafor the best, but only because I'm a big fan of that high school. Great facilities and coaching. Outstanding academics. My daughter used to go to summer volleyball camp there when she was in middle school. I'll have to catch some games this season.

Thanks, my new grandson! If he takes after his Dad's family, he'll be between 6'1"-6'5" and strong (at just 2 months, he's already 24 1/2 inches long).

They're not on the same team anymore. Embid transferred to The Rock.
