Kansas & Louisville offered Joel Embiid. Rick Pitino watched him on Sunday. Self scheduled for this week.

We can't lose a guy in our own backyard with his potential... Need to reel him in, call it a class and make room for +1 if Julius wants in come Spring. Go Gators!

I believe that we already are at +1 if Patric stays for his senior year. Embiid would then be +2. Randle would be +3.

I believe you're close on that... However, if Pat leaves as expected that opens room for Embiid and therefore Randle would be the +1 I was alluding too.. This is if the player who gave up his scholly continues to do so...

That's a lot of "ifs", but I agree. By the way, Draft Express has Patric going at #18 in the 1st round, but Draft Net has Patric going in the 2nd round. Imo, it's no slam dunk that Patric leaves after this season.

He might be, but last season, he was a somewhat undersized, but ridiculously strong, center with limited offensive skills who didn't get a lot of rebounds. I don't see him as a lock for the 1st round unless he plays a lot better this season.

Agree 100%... however I'm predicting a huge year for Big Pat... like best Big in the SEC huge.

I don't think he's is a must for us with rimmer on board as a project, plus I doubt DFS or Harris are leaving anytime soon. I'd rather Seldon, Parker, and Randle be our +1 +2 or +3 in no particular order.

That would be a big sacrifice. Giving it up for one year was pretty huge to begin with. I have no inside information but always assumed this was a one year deal with him.

Well probably everyone will not be happy with their situation after this year. So there may well be people moving on.

Could be, and should be, and I hope he is. I just don't know if the kid has the drive to. Watched him stand there and watch the ball fly around way to much last year.

He had a bum ankle the majority of the season. Why does everyone forget this? It's a huge issue for a big, especially one that relies on his athleticism vs skill like Pat does. He will be a beast this season, no doubt.

Also, in the SEC, Noel is not even in the same stratosphere as Davis was in terms of development. Pat will have his way with him down low IMO.

So if we don't have room or can't reel in Embiid, can't we just wait until next year and reel in his teammate Dakari Johnson. He appears to be very high on UF. Looks like Young's Jahlil Okafor is interested in UF too.

Dakari is originally from the NE so that may be a factor here. Not sure how Burno may effect this but Cuse will be in it until the end with him IMO. Embiid is much less of a slam dunk but a 4 year prospect that is 7ft tall... Something you cannot teach.

Granted we do have Rimmer in the fold so that could take some of the pressure of bringing Embiid in off our staff.. Going to be interesting to see how this class shakes out!

I too am puzzled about recruiting Embiid and D. Johnson. Embiid just left the shadow of D. Johnson. I wonder if he is willing to risk going to a school he thinks D. Johnson might pick?

There is at least speculation that Embiid was part of the reason why SR decommitted. We haven't formally offered, have we?

Some of the articles about him have noted that he had sufficiently poor English as to be baffled by basketball terminology. I assume it has improved, but I wonder whether he will be required to take the TOEFL or if it will otherwise affect his ability to get into UF or other schools.
