Just watching some highlights on Julius Randle and ended up watching some of Mickey Mitchell (also of Prestonwood Christian Academy) of the 2015 class. Looks like he has some interest in us. Anybody know anything about him?
I'm sure Billy's got an eye on him.

He certainly has a very interesting skill set. He is clever with the ball. He also has post moves. He is not a skinny 6'6" at all.

This kid has the goods! Very high basketball IQ. I could do without some of the showboating (you can do no-look without trying to show off) but he's just a kid.

I saw him at the City of Palms. No showboating; a great young prospect.

Top 10 player nationally in his class, some even say #1. His older brother is a super athletic (SPARQ champion) 5 star linebacker who has also shown a bit of interest in UF.

He's Mike's brother? Damn that kid is an amazing athlete, 4.4 40, 40 inch VJ. Was surprised to see UF show up on his list.

Well his and Randle's high school coach does have a state of Florida connection:
Prestonwood coach Chris Mayberry also won the Steve Bumm Memorial Coaching Award. This was Mayberry’s first trip to the City of Palms, but he’s familiar with the Sunshine State. The Lions coach spent nine years at Orlando’s First Academy before taking over at Prestonwood.
The above comes from a story on the CIty of Palms tourney that they won and also discusses Randle and Mickey Mitchell:
http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2011/dec/21/city-palms-classic-prestonwood-christian-rolls-tou/
Here is a bio of Mayberry:
Coach's Bio
Prestonwood Christian Academy named Chris Mayberry, former boys varsity basketball coach for nine years at The First Academy in Orlando, FL, as its new varsity boys basketball coach. Mayberry joins PCA after leading The First Academy basketball team to a 2011 State title appearance, as the team was named to the Orlando Sentinel Super 16 in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Mayberry led the team to four District Championships, seven Regional appearances winning three Regional Championships, and three Final Four appearances. Coach Mayberry's overall record at The First Academy was 187-75, and during this time he was named 2006 Class 2A Coach of the Year, District Coach of the Year six times and has served as director and counselor at many basketball camps and clinics throughout the nation.
During Mayberry's 13-year tenure at The First Academy, he also served as the Middle School Assistant Principal, Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director.
Coach Mayberry graduated from Bryan College where he earned NAIA National Scholar Athlete, All Conference and NCCAA All American honors as a basketball player.

Damn. Go get him kid Billy D. Reminds me a bit of Matt Walsh (6'6" with flashy "point forward" skills)., Except alot more athletic and no afro.
On a related note, the #1 2015 player on Rivals Karl Towns has just called Florida his "dream school". We will be competing with UK, UNC, Duke for him, but by the sound of that quote we should be very much in the thick of it if not the clear early favorite.
Sounds like UF have some pretty good early inroads to 2 of the top players for 2015 already.

Actually watching his video again, Chase Budinger is probably a better comparison than Matt Walsh. Walsh wasn't making those attack the rim plays (obviously), however Mitchel does have some amazing passing skills at 6'6"+ which was the best thing about Walsh's game. Pretty sure he would be a perfect fit in our system. His athleticism looks to rival the best we've had at the 3 (Corey Brewer), but he can actually handle the ball like some of the point fowards we've had like Parsons, Matt Walsh, etc.

Mickey is taller than 6' 6". Supposedly, he might be going to school at Winter Park this year. Anyone know more?

Having seen him last December at the City of Palms, I can tell you that he looked taller than 6' 6" back then.

False. Lauren Anderson was by far the best thing about Matt Walsh's game:

According to CBSsportsline, he is taking an unofficial visit to aTm this weekend:
-- Texas A&M has a monster weekend planned, with plenty of 2014 and 2015 studs coming to College Station. .... From the 2015 class, ... Mickey Mitchell (No. 6) and ... will visit.

The excerpt is from the notes at the bottom of the article.
I would like to think his interest is really in UF this weekend, but who knows.

Lauren Anderson miss low self esteem. Any girl who stays with a man after how he treated has no value in their own self worth.

Well she's dating the likes of Reid Bringac now, if that tells you anything about her (especially considering she lol's when I crack on him to her). But we're not talking about her suitability as a mother and life partner. Her self esteem is not on my list of required conditions when it comes to the ends I'm pursuing with those types of girls.
Make no mistake, she and her sister Kelley are f-ing nutso. But they are both hot, and as long as you keep both of those things in mind when you deal with women like that, they are a lot of fun. It's when you expect chicks like Lauren and Kelley to be more than they are that you end up disappointed, like my boy Teddy D was (and I damn sure told him Kelley was a loon when he was all in love with her).
And I am eternally gracious that the state of Florida is disproportionately populated with moral clones of them. ;)

Wonder what position he plays in football with that frame. Maybe Matt can work is brother Mike, though our football coaches don't seem too interested in him.

Mike used to play for Plano West and one of the coaches there is a friend of mine. He told me he is the best player he has ever coached. And he just coached Jackson Jeffcoat. He also said he thought Mike wanted to go to Florida, but wasn't certain, and that Urban has been all over him.
Also the reason he is not a PW anymore is because the father was making demands about how and where his son would play. So much so that the PW coaches said no thanks. TIFWIW. I wish we could land him, but sometimes there is so much more that goes into the reason a kid attends a particular school.
Don't know anything about the recrutiment of Mickey.
