When you ‘reloaded’ your email account did you change the password? Do you have solid anti-virus protection in place and have you done a good virus scan recently?

My guess is that the answers to both of those questions are Yes but it’s always good to check the basics.

It is trivial to send email messages that have bogus sent-by and reply-to addresses. It is possible that your email address is just being used by malware that has no connection to anything you control. Your address might have been discovered by a virus on your or other computer – or it could just be randomly generated. If this is the case, you cannot do anything but be patient, hoping for the miscreant to cease using it.

You probably don't have a virus. Like Lake said, it's trivial to spoof a sender. Someone just scraped your email off something and is sending out emails "from" you.

Changing your password is a good idea in either event.

Check your sent mail, I doubt any of those emails are in there (if a web service), which would indicate spoofing.

Creepy. And annoying for sure. Well, like these guys said, you should change your password and see whether you receive "ghost email" still.
