Not really a surprise, but Johnson, Fontana and Maddox are already done. I wouldn't have been shocked if Randall came back, but the insiders here said all along he was gone, and from the reports he's very close to officially signing. The only one we haven't heard anything on is Paco, but he has such a short path to the majors as a lefty specialist that I can't imagine him not signing.

According to Baseball America's draft tracker Randall has signed. The only ones left are Z and Paco and there is ZERO chance Z comes back. So that leaves Paco. He was a 2nd rounder and I would be shocked if he came back.

As for the recruits, Romero still hasn't signed as of yesterday and the four that were drafted around the 36th round or later haven't signed either. All others are signed according to Baseball America.

Just go to baseballamerica.com, go to Draft, then go to the draft tracker. You can look up by last name, round, team, or state. Pretty useful. The SWAC had a handful of kids that hadn't signed: Travis, Gonzales, Scantling, and Sherman if I recall correctly.

Well in regards to FSU, Sherman and Scantling are gone regardless since they are seniors....

how did our rivals do (the usual suspects, fsu, miami, uga, etc) w/ their recruits - were they decimated by the draft?

Sully needs to put the best four guys into the rotation. We know Crawford and Whitson are two so two spots open going into the fall. Kish might be one of our best guys and appears to be perfect to replace Maddox as the closer but would he be best used as a starter so we get more innings out of him since we may not have many leads for him to close next year. No use having one of your best arms throwing minimized innings. Mags started a few times this year but was not that effective as he seemed to find bats rather easily. He is throwing in the cape this summer so lets see how he does up there heading into the fall. I like Harris to replace Larson in the middle relief role. Perhaps Gibson can replace Paco which might be asking a bit much since he just does not have the stuff that Paco does. You have Stump and Poyner as lefty matchup guys out of the pen.

Miami got destroyed. I doubt they ever really expected to get Correa or Almora, but they also had 3 other players go before the end of the sandwich round.

Romero has a good chance of coming to school. I guess their might be a problem with having no bonus money to give him. They could go over the cap, but will pay a hefty fee in return.

Still don't see Paco coming back. LA will get that deal done.

Paco is not coming back, and don't hold your breath on Romero showing up either.

lots of new faces next season. many players having to step up their game as a starter or key contributor, that's for sure. should be interesting.

college ball - like football, etc - teams turnover. new faces at least every 4 years. i think only the marlins function that way in the majors ;)

i remember a few years back i took in an early practice and scrimmage to check out the new guys. it was fun watching them play - trying to make the team. some became stars, others major contributors etc. probably another year where alot of newcomers will be making an impact. may have to check 'em out again.

Zunino signed with Seattle. Good for him that he got it done this early. The top 10 picks often go down the last minute. This will give him a chance to get a good number of pro at bats under his belt this year.

Surprised Zunino signed for $1.2M under his slot. Lot of money to leave on the table. Perhaps he negotiated being on the extended roster this fall or in the spring.

Anyone know who is left? The Sun article says one junior is left.

Cody Dent is the only player left from the '09 class. It's a darn shame that this group didn't win a title, but they are almost undoubtedly the most accomplished class in Gator history.

Tucker is a 4th year senior, not a junior.

Tucker is a 4th year senior, not a junior.I meant in response to chipley, who asked if there was one junior left, that all the juniors are signed. Tucker is the only player who hasn't been signed yet.
