Anyone remember going I to the snack bars in the old fashion fish camps or confectionaries and seeing those nasty hard boiled eggs and sausage links in those big jars of mystery juice (vinegar/brine/anti-freeze)? I never bought one nor did I ever see anyone buy one. I haven't seen any of these in years. Has anyone on this board ever eaten any of these items?

Jugg, when I was in the Army in 1970-71, my last six months were spent typing up reports for an Intelligence office using IBM Selectric typewriters. When I got out, I had an obligation for one year of active duty in the Natl Guard. The unit I went to had nothing but old Royal manuals and the first time I tried to use one, I was halfway through the first sentence when I realized that not one key had hit the paper.

Loved Johnny Carson, one of television's greatest comedians.
I saw the night GEORGE GOBEL, DEAN MARTIN and Bob HOPE were on.
Famous line by GOBEL WAS that he was stationed in OKLAHOMA for the entire war.
But, that must have been where the army needed me, he Said, or they wouldn't have put me there. You gotta remember that the JAPANESE never made it past Tulsa.
I have never laughed so hard at a Tonight show as I did that night.
Oh, and the the night ED AMES, Mingo the INDIAN , ON DANIEL BOONE...demonstrated his throwing of the tomahawk...right in the crotch of the silhouette on the target. Incredible...ah the good old days.
I remember all this stuff.
I remember 17 cent gas and gas wars.
I remember all PAN AM stuff..my dad was an employee and got to walk onto..and right off of..the first 747.
I remember drinking AND SMOKING at 11 am on the way to my buddy's wedding in New York on a National flight.
I remember actually greeting your friends AT THE CONCOURSE.
I remember my first kids show ...THE MAJOR's BANDWAGON...pre Skipper Chuck days..when I was seven. My Porky Pig puppet was a big hit.
Going to early Saturday movies and seeing double, triple features, and sometimes all cartoons.
Saw M T GRAVES at THE SHORES IN MIAMI.
I remember going to South BEach in high school...because there was nothing but old people and parking was easy.
I remember the train at Crandon Park Zoo on Key Biscayne..how great..it was a miniature.
I remember when I95 was being constructed in North Miami..worlds greatest playground.
I remember seeing Forbidden Planet when I was seven...and the monster scared the chit out of me.
I remember IT THE TERROR FROM BEYOND SPACE....the forerunner of ALIEN.
I remember when I actually knew all the songs in church.
I remember SISTER JOHN MARGARET , my sixth grade teacher..one of my best ever.
She taught choir. She thought kid was intentionally singing off key ( I hope)...
She went up to his desk..asked him to take off his glasses..and punched him right in the face. Amazing...we all tried harder after that.lol:joecool:
